I open my eyes to see that I'm in a cell in Erudite. I see the Erudite eye on the glass door in front of me, then look around. I'm in a cell exactly like Ty's from when he was held here.

Ty. Where's Ty?

I stand up and walk to the door of the cell. I beat on it. I don't see anyone in the hallway besides the regular guards, or the occasional scientist milling through the halls. I slide down against the door and beat my head on it.

Where's Ty? Where are Hannah and Dylan? Why am I here?

I look down at my clothes and see that there are small holes in my shirt and in my pants. I examine them, and see that the holes that litter my shirt are the same holes as the ones that were on Ty's clothes when he was in Erudite.

I walk over to the window in my cell and hold onto the bars. I see the small cube shaped houses that Abnegation live in, the Merciless Mart in Candor, the Bean sculpture that is about ten floors below me, in Millennium Park, the Amity farms, and then my eyes fall upon the dilapidated buildings that make up the Dauntless Headquarters.

I long to be back there, I yearn to be in Ty's arms, in our apartment, watching Hannah and Dylan play. I hear the sound of the release of steam, and turn. A guard stands at my door. He raises his eyebrows at me, then turns back to face the main white hallway that my cell is in.

He pulls me out of my cell and into a white room, which is the hallway outside of my cell. It's a circular room with doorways on each side, leading into another hallway. I see Jordan standing over a gurney of sorts that has a body covered in a sheet.

"I thought you might want to see this." Jordan says, the sheet locked in his fist. I see the vague contour of the body underneath the sheet and I drop to my knees. "I'm sorry, Madison." He says, then pulls the sheet back.

I am eye level with the motionless body of Ty. It's like my nightmare is real. My mental breakdown, my worst fear is true. Ty is dead.

Blood covers his temple, his ear. His face is pale, his mouth parted slightly, his eyes closed lightly. I move to stand up and I lean my forehead to his. I kiss his cool lips, then watch as a tear lands on his cheek. It's my tear. I wipe it away.

I place my hand on his face, my thumb caressing his cheek. I then look over to where Jordan stands, not even a foot away from me. He stands on the opposite side of Ty's body. I look at him with hatred. "You're the reason for this." I say to him.

"What?" He asks, "It's not my fault that your husband didn't have the mental capacity to handle a mere simulation." Jordan looks at me in a pitiful way. I narrow my eyes at him, then reach across the gurney and lock my fingers around his throat.

"I hate you so much, Jordan! I hate you so much! You killed Ty! You killed my husband! It's all your fault!" I yell at him as I knock his body over. I am quickly pulled off of him by the guards, but I pull myself from their grasp, then sit on the edge of Ty's gurney.

I pull the sheet back far enough so that I can see his hand. I interlace our fingers, then smile. "Forever, Ty—" I am cut off by a voice.

"Maddie!" The voice shouts. "Maddie!" I look around. It sounds like Ty, but I don't see him alive. He's dead, his body laying on the gurney limply. "Maddie!"
