Chapter 99: Home, Hannah.

I wake in the hospital bed, my arm slung over Maddie's shoulders, her face turned inward into my chest.

I carefully stroke her arm, then press a quick kiss to her forehead when I realize that the sun is streaming in through the small windows, creating a ray of light that shines directly in my eye.

"Good Morning," she grumbles as she tries to sit up, but then quickly decides against it. "Ow, oh, sitting up or moving anything is not a good idea." She says, clutching her now flat stomach.

I simply look down at her, kissing her cheek quickly. I move to sit up, my back against the back of the bed. I help her as she tries to move, and eventually, she's sitting up as well.

"We get to take home Dylan today," I look over beside me at her, beaming with joy. She giggles, but then frowns. "What's wrong?" I ask her.

"Oh, we're going to have such a problem with Hannah. Of course Dylan's going to cry at night, and he'll wake Hannah up too." She says. I sigh, knowing that she speaks the truth.

"The only thing I can think of is that we could have someone keep Hannah for like the next maybe three days, or maybe just the nights, and then we'll casually bring her into it." I shrug. She nods.

"Well," she speaks. "It's gonna have to work."

A nurse walks into the room not but a few seconds later. "Good morning, Mr. And Mrs. Pedrad." She scans over a chart in her hands. "Looks like you will be released today! But, Mr. Pedrad, I need you to fill out a few release forms since you're Madison's husband and will be accompanying her on the way home and at home." She says as she walks over to me, handing me a clipboard and a pen.

I quickly fill out all of the forms, which was mostly just signing my name, and hand them back to the nurse. Maddie smirks at me when I turn back to her. I feel the smile creeping upon my face before I even notice it. "What?" I ask her softly. She shakes her head, smiling.

"Just you." She kisses my cheek, giggling.

The nurse turns back around to face us. "Okay, Florence should be in here in just a minute with Dylan to show you parenting basics, which is required." She shrugs.

The nurse walks out, then turns around, coming back in. "Before I leave, anything I can help you with?" She asks. Maddie shakes her head, and she's on her way.

I turn, painfully moving to sit up on the edge of the bed. I cringe, wincing and gritting my teeth as I feel the pain wash over my like a wave- one huge ripple at a time.

I tire myself out just thinking of whether or not I should try to stand up, so I just lay back down. Ah. Relief. I close my eyes, and then hear the creaking of a door.

Ty turns, and a woman with cherry red hair and a thin frame walks in. Her slim cheekbones are very prominent on her face, especially when she smiles at me cheerily. She walks in, pulling a portable crib in behind her.

"Dylan Pedrad?" She asks as she looks down at a small slip of paper at the head of the crib. I nod. "He's very handsome." She smiles.
