Dangerous Woman- Ariana Grande
Ty

"Bye Ty!" Tori waves at me as I exit the tattoo parlor. I wave back, then turn and walk down the upper Pit path. Maddie wasn't at work today, something I find a little weird. I haven't talked to her today, either. I guess I'll have to find her at some point and ask her how she is.

"Ty!" I hear a voice shout, "Ty!" I turn and see Ariana running up to me. She reaches me and stops, then giggles. "Woah," she says, lifting my arm up so that it's in the light, "When did you get a tan?!"

I fake a laugh. "Very funny, Ariana. You know I'm really pale." She sighs.

"No, you're actually darker than me, so you're tan!" She exclaims. She places an elbow on my shoulder, a hand to her face, and smiles. "Anyways, my wonderful cousin, I think that we should... Throw a party for Hunter, Maddie, and Olivia next week since they're turning eighteen!" She squeals.

I roll my eyes as I smile. "You're only doing this to impress Hunter!" I say, poking her arm. "Just date already!"

"True, true, and I do, but he hasn't made a move. Anyways, The party. I'm thinking something flashy, big, and alcoholic!" I cringe at her words, then grimace as I think of how Maddie would probably react to a party like that.

"Ariana, I don't think Maddie would like that. She's not that kind of person. Also, I don't think it's a good idea to mix her with alcohol." I cringe.

"Oh you're lame!" She exclaims. "Please, don't even lie. I know you just want to keep her to yourself on her birthday so that you two can have sex!" I gasp at what she says, then glare at her.

"Ariana! Four would murder me. He would kill me if I had sex with her. He doesn't even like me." I say, thinking of all of the dirty looks Four's given me.

"Well," Ariana says to me, her eyes making direct contact with mine, "You're going to have to make a move sooner or later." I frown. "I'll hit you up later about the party. Sometime when you're not with Maddie!" She giggles, then runs off into the darkness of one of the tunnels.

I sigh, then look out at the Pit. I see the initiates down at the bottom of the chamber, crowded around my father and another guy, probably Four. I nearly cringe, then continue to walk. I turn down the hallway that will lead me to the Chasm corridor, where my apartment is.

As I'm passing through one of the hallways, I see a small figure standing at the edge of a Chasm path, looking down into the Chasm itself. It's a girl. The water sprays against the girl's combat boots. The long brown hair and wrist tattoo immediately let me know who it is.

Maddie. She raises her hand, then pulls something out of her pocket with the other. I look closely. It's a blade. She shakes, and I know that she's crying. She covers her mouth, but a sob still escapes.

Maddie takes a step forward, and I realize that she's about to step off into the Chasm.

She's trying to kill herself.

No, no, no. Not Maddie. Not today, not ever. She's too important to just die. This must've been why she wasn't at work today. She was planning this out the entire day. "Maddie!" I yell, then race forward and grab onto her arm as she takes a step and falls into the Chasm.
