Chapter 33: Out of the Island

"You really shouldn't bother taking care of Stella, the others can take good care of her Sir Chase." David stated as he walks me back to my room. Wala akong naisagot sa sinabi niya at nakatingin lang sa kawalan.

I didn't know that it was this complicated. Ang hirap pala talagang mawalan ng alaala, madali kang maloko, madali kang mauto. Hindi mo alam kung totoo ba ang sinasabi ng tao sa paligid mo o hindi. Sa limang taon kong pananatili dito sa mansyon, akala ko'y totoo lahat ng pinaniniwalaan ko, akala ko sa isang bagay lang ako hindi sigurado, kung si Patricia nga ba talaga ang girlfriend ko. Bukod dun, akala ko tama na ang lahat pero hindi rin pala.

"You can leave now, I want to rest." ani ko sakanya ng makapasok na ako sa loob ng kwarto, yumukod naman siya sa aking harapan, "Have a good night sleep then Sir." tsaka ulit tumayo ng tuwid pero bago pa man siya makaalis ay tinawag ko siyang muli.

"David..." lumingon siya sa gawi ko at nag-antay ng aking sasabihin.

"Where's Patricia? I didn't see her this evening, is she out of the island again?" I have to pretend. Pretend that I don't know what really happened to her. Hindi niya kasi pwedeng mahalatang may alam na ako though it's really obvious sa nangyari sa party kagabi, kailangan ko pa ring umarte na parang tanga at walang kaalam-alam sa mga nangyayari sa paligid ko.

"Indeed she is. She's currently on her business trip to Spain, she'll back after a week." he's very used of doing such thing as lying. Wala kang mababakas na pagkabalisa sakanya, parang praktisado niya na lahat ng sasabihin at handa siya sa lahat ng bagay, even this.

"I see. Is it okay for her to travel that far? She fainted on her birthday party last time, is she okay now?" sinasadya ko talagang tanungin siya ng sunod-sunod para makita kung ano ang gagawin niya, masasagot niya pa rin ba ito ng tama? This guy is interesting I may say, matalino siya at swerte si Patricia for having him as a butler.

"Don't worry about her Sir Chase, she's fine. She can handle herself well. Oh by the way Sir, she wants to say that she can't call nor text you for the upcoming days because she'll be very busy. She promised to spend her leisure time with you when she returns." I responded a simple nod to his extensive explanation then shut the door. I leaned on it and heard his footsteps walking away from my room.
