Maxine's POV

"I'm so excited!!!" Rydel squealed as we ran to her room.

"For tonight or to eat the Cinnabons?" I giggled, plopping down on her fluffy bed.

"Both." She grinned and clapped her hands with glee. Rydel was the definition of bubbly. She was so energetic and joyful but she was also extremely classy and sophisticated. #ACTUALQUEEN

"You stoked for your audition tomorrow?" She looked up from her magazine.

"Yeah but I'm crazy nervous too." I replied. "It's such a prestigious arts school and I don't wanna blow my chances of getting in by messing up."

"That's totally understandable but don't worry, we'll all be there cheering you on. You're gonna kill it, Max."

"Thanks, Delly."

We sat in silence for a few moments before I spoke again.

"Gosh, it's so quiet when the boys aren't here."

"I know, right?" Rydel laughed. "Riker, Ell, and Rocky are in the studio messing around. I think Ryland's with them too."

"Oh my." I snickered. "Where's Ross?"

"I'm not sure, actually. He's out somewhere." She seemed to be withholding information.

"Oh." I shrugged.

We were at DisneyLand together last week and I hadn't seen him since. We both were extremely busy so maybe that was why we hadn't hung out recently.

"Yeah." Rydel continued. "He was at the music store the other day and met this girl. She was super shy and whatnot so he wanted to reach out to her. So now they're taking pictures at the park or something."

"Cool." I forced a smile.

"Mhmm."

A timer in the kitchen went off with a beep so Rydel and I scrambled down the stairs. We had bought Cinnabon cinnamon rolls and they were heating up in the toaster.

"Wait...where's the packet of icing?" I asked, looking around.

"Umm...I might have left it in the box."

"I thought you emptied into a bowl so you could put it in the microwave but it's not there anymore."

"Hmm..."

As if in cue, Rocky walked in with a bowl filled with vanilla icing. "If you hand over the Cinnabons, no one will get hurt and no one will get icing in their hair."

"Not gonna happen, Rocky." Rydel replied with sass. "They're for me and Maxine."

"Guess again."

When I looked over, Riker was sneaking around to the kitchen. He had grabbed a plate and was attempting to steal our cinnamon rolls.

"Riker, don't you dare."

"Oh. I was just looking at them. I wasn't gonna take them."

"Uh-huh. Suuuuure."

Rydel somehow got the bowl of icing from Rocky without either of them getting doused in icing. At this point, Ratliff and Ryland had entered the kitchen.

"Okay there are four huge Cinnabons." Rydel said. "Maxine and I will each have one and a half so you boys can split the last one into fourths."

"That is NOT fair." Rocky laughed.

"Fair enough for me." Ryland grinned, took the cinnamon roll, grabbed a napkin, and ran.

Riker, Rocky, and Ratliff immediately went after him.
