Lesly’s POV

Gosh I hated learning new dances. I strongly disliked it. A lot. I was in a musical and of course, there was lots of singing and dancing. Learning new choreography was something that required concentration and patience. Of course, I had some patience but concentration wasn’t even a thing in my world. The only thing I was looking forward to was dancing with all my friends and cast-mates for the show.
We were doing a musical version of the story of Cinderella. I was so excited because the costumes were phenomenal and the sets were gorgeous. I walked into the studio were the other performers were. A bunch of the artistic directors were standing in the room and I gave a huge smile as I entered.
“Oh. Good morning, Lesly. Since you’re Cinderella and there’s a bunch of intricate dances with you, you’re going to have separate rehearsals most of the time.” One of the directors informed me. “I’ll show you where you’re rehearsing.”
“Oh. Okay.” I forced a smile to hide my sinking heart. “Thanks.”

I was led down the hall to a different studio. I slowly opened the door and walked in. The sun was shining brightly through the huge windows. The city skyline of LA was the veiw out the windows and it was brilliant.

There was also a blonde-haired guy sitting on the floor looking at his phone. His back was turned to me so I put my stuff and down and walked up to him. He looked up and saw me through the mirror. Putting his phone on the floor, he stood up and turned to greet me.
“Hi. I’m Ross.” He said sorta shyly.
“Hi. I’m Lesly.” I grinned.

I thought we were gonna shake hands but he gave me a hug instead. I smiled and put my arms around him.
“So you’re Cinderella huh?”
“Yeah.” I smiled bashfully.
“Cool.” He gave me thumbs up. “I mean I guess it makes sense for a gorgeous princess to play the part of Cinderella….”
He walked over to plug his phone into the speakers and I stood there blushing. Did he just call me a gorgeous princess? He thinks I’m gorgeous? OMG. I think he’s the gorgeous one. He fixed his beanie and goofily skipped over to me.
“Okay so there’s like a billion lifts so you ready for this?”
“No….” I giggled.
“Aww Lesly. Don’t worry. You got this.” He encouraged me. “And I’ll do my best not to drop to you.”

“Oh thanks. That’s so kind.”
“I try.” He snickered.
I loved his laugh. It made me smile uncontrollably and his giggle was very contagious. We ran through all the easy stuff first and there was lots of giggling and distractedness.

I was about to do a spin and Ross was supposed to catch me. I spun but he let me drop and fell to the ground with laughter.
“Oh my gosh.” Ross gasped. “I’m so sorry. I was thinking about animals.”
“Animals?” I giggled.
“Yeah. Don’t laugh. It’s not funny.”
I laughed even harder because he said that and he fake pouted.
“Did you know that squirrels can’t burp or throw up?”

“No but I do now.” I laughed. “And that’s gross, Ross.”
“I know, right?” He agreed. “And also, did you know that owls don’t have eyeballs. They have eye tubes.”

“Eye tubes?” I asked as I spun towards him.
He caught me this time and looked into my eyes. “Yeah.”
“That’s quite fascinating. How do you know all this stuff?”
“I read lots and lots.” He beamed. “I always loved animals and even when I was little, I’d be reading animal books while trying to learn math.”
“Aww that’s cute.” I grinned. “But didn’t your teacher take away your books?”
“Nope. My mom was my teacher so as long as I was learning something, all was good.”

I laughed. “So you were homeschooled?”
“Yeah.”
“Cool.”
“Yup!”

“Ooh and wanna know something else about animal eyes before we go back to rehearsing?”
“Sure.” I smiled. He looked so happy and excitement and I wasn’t about to cause that joy to stop.

“Reindeer eyeballs turn blue in winter to help them see at lower light levels.” He grinned. “Isn’t that super freaking cool?”
“It is totally super freaking cool.” I replied with enthusiam.
We rehearsed for hours and it was getting really hard. We both were mildly injured and I had fallen many, many times.
“Wanna take a break and get some ice cream or something?” Ross offered. “You’ve been working really hard.”
“No. I gotta get that one lift. I keep falling.”
“Alright, but feel free to take a break if you get tired.”
I nodded and kept working at it.
“No wait….you gotta step with that foot and then I pick you up?”
“But what if I hurt you again?”
“It’ll be okay. I won’t mind.”
“Okay.”
I went up in the air and I landed gracefully and safely. The only problem was that I had accidentally taken out Ross in the process. I completely knocked the wind out of him and he was laying on the floor. I knelt down beside him and realized he was unconsious. Just as I was about to freak out, he sat up and rubbed his head.

“I saw you…you were flying.” He said in an adorably groggily voice.

I chuckled but I was still extremely worried that he was really hurt.

“You landed pretty hard and I think you hit your head.” I looked in his eyes. “Do you remember your name?”
“You’re Cinderella and I’m your Prince Charming.”
I mean I wasn’t gonna lie; he was very charming and I wouldn’t mind if he was my prince.

“But do you remember your real name….or my real name?”
“Yeah…” He said, still souding like he was in a daze. “You’re Cinderella…”
And with that being said, he passed out again. Oh dear. This is not good.

[AN HOUR LATER]

Ross’s POV
I was sitting on the floor holding a bag of ice to my head.
“So wait…I kept calling you Cinderella?” I chuckled.
Lesly giggled. “Yeah and when the nurse came in, you kept bowing and curtsying and saying ‘introducing her majesty, Cinderella’. It was SO funny.”
“Oh gosh. I bet I sounded so stupid.”
“Well I mean you were barely concious.”
“Yeah but still…”
“It was adorable.”
“You’re adorable.” I blurted.
“Oh?” She raised an eyebrow.
“Yeah. I think you’re the adorable one.”
Lesly smiled and looked out at her shoes.
“Well I think you’re adorable too, Ross.”

I smiled and she sat next to me until my head stopped hurting.
“So I think I might take you up on your ice cream offer now…” Lesly hinted.
“NO!!!” I shreiked dramatically. “IT’S TOO LATE LESLY! IT’S TOOOOOOOO LAAAAAATE!!!!

She was bent over from laughing so hard and her laugh was making me laugh. We both ended up on the floor and I was crying from how hard I was laughing. We finally caught our breath and I helped her up. Just as we were about to head out, a tall dark-haired guy barged in.
“Oh good. I found you Lesly.” He boomed. “Now we can finally rehearse…without Blondie.”
If that was the guy who was playing the part of Cinderella’s prince, I did NOT like him. Not one bit.
