Ross and Rebecca: Part Two

Ross's POV

We all entered the building and enjoyed the heat for a moment.

"And I think we got everyone." My dad said counting everyone.

"Wait. Rebecca. Where's she?" Ryland noticed.

"She was right beside me when we were walking in..." Rydel said in a worried tone.

While everyone else was inside discussing Rebecca's disappearance, I decided to go out and find her. I heard my name called out and knew I wasn't supposed to go back out there alone but once the adrenaline kicked in, there was no turning back.

Of course: leave it to Rebecca to get left in the snow while the rest of us were inside. Quite frankly, I didn't even hate her. I just didn't know how to tell her I loved her and I didn't think she liked me. Plus, I enjoyed annoying her.

After calling her name and straining my eyes through the falling snow, I finally found her. She looked like a random lump of clothes in the snow. I carefully pulled her head up and looked at her. She didn't seem to be conscious.

"Rebecca are you okay?" I kept gently shaking her shoulder and saying her name. She didn't stir.

A few seconds passed before she slowly opened her eyes.

"Ross. I'm cold." She shivered.

"Shh...I know. I just texted my mom and dad and they're coming. Just stay still."

"What happened? Where am I?"

"You're outside the hotel. It looks like you passed out like literally a few feet away from the parking lot. It's hard to tell with the snow."

"Oh. And you came out to rescue me?"

"Yeah..."

"You're so brave." She sighed. I could see people coming to get us so I held her close to keep her warm until we were inside. I moved a little bit since my leg was falling asleep.

"P-p-please don't l-l-leave me."

I pulled her even closer. "I won't. I promise."

Rebecca's POV

I was falling asleep again but this time I didn't mind. I was still cold but at least Ross was keeping me warm. He had his arms wrapped around me and my head was against his chest. I could hear his heartbeat and I smiled to myself.

Everything was kinda a blur but once I could feel my toes again, I knew everything and everyone was fine. Stormie was sitting beside me and Rydel was on the other side.

"Ross pretty much saved your life." Rydel gushed.

"Yeah...."

"He likes you. He's just too shy to tell you. One day, he'll muster up the courage." Stormie explained.

"You're right, Mom but it's not like I'm scary." I chuckled. "Am I?"

"No. Not at all. Ross just sometimes doesn't know how to express his feelings. We can all experience that." She said handing me a mug of hot chocolate. Just then, Ross came into the room, as if on cue, Stormie and Rydel left.

"How are you feeling?" Ross asked.

"I'm fine. Thanks for helpin' me out."

"Well you know what they say,'When a person's stuck in the snow, you better go help 'em out.'"

"No one says that Rossy."

"Somebody somewhere does." He laughed wiggling his toes through his socks.

"You're probably right."

"Hey Rebecca."

"Yeah?" I looked straight into his eyes. They were so handsome. Why hadn't I noticed them before?

"Ya know how they say you learn something new everyday?"

"Yeah. People actually say that." I giggled.

"Well today, I learned that I'm head over heels in love with you and there's no way I can hide it from you anymore." He blurted. "I tried everything. I tried ignoring you. I tried annoying you but nothing worked and that's because I absolutely love you, Rebecca and there's nothing I can do about it except tell you and I wanna tell you I love you every single day of my life so will you be my girlfriend?"

I was literally in shock. Here I was dreading this trip and hating on Ross because deep down I loved him and he loved me. Oh my goodness. I kept trying to say yes but I couldn't so I nodded enthusiastically. The rest of the evening I spent squealing with Rydel and cuddling with Ross. You never know; falling in the snow might help you realize you've fallen in love.
