Randi's POV

"Hey guys. My feet hurt. Let's stop skating and get some tea and hot cocoa."

"But Delly you-" Rocky started but Rydel shot him a glare.

"Oh right." Everyone started to clear off the ice.

Rydel turned and saw that I was following her. She pointed to the rink where Ross was off in his own world skating around with his hockey stick. "You're not gonna leave him to skate alone are ya?"

"Ohh that's why you made everyone ditch us. So you could get me and Ross alone."

"Maybe." She winked and skipped down the hill to catch up with the others.

I sighed and got back on the ice. I skated up to where Ross was standing.

"Uhhh….so…." I began awkwardly. Ross abruptly took my hand and put his hockey stick on the ground.

"Rydel's sneaky huh?" He chuckled. His laugh put me at ease and I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding.

"Yeah. She's funny though."

Ross held out his gloved hand. "Skate with me?"

"Of course."

We skated circles around the rink.

"Okay. Random fact about you. Go."

"Me?"

"Umm yeah. You, Funny Girl."

"Oh. Oh right. Umm I once got my hair tangled in a cotton candy dispenser...long story."

"Ooh. Lovely."

"Random fact about you. Go."

"I'm an adrenline junkie."

Abruptly, I stopped skating and turned to him but because I stopped so suddenly, I knocked both Ross and I off-balance.

"Are you alright?"

"Yeah." I giggled sheepishly.  "But what did you say you were?"

"Oh an adrenaline junkie. It just means that I'm a bit more hyper than a typical person and I do best when I need to hurry or rush. I also have a bit of a short temper."

"Oh so does being tickled anger you?" I raised an eyebrow.

Ross skated ahead of me a bit and then skated backwards and I skated forwards. "You wouldn't dare tickle me would ya?"

"Of course I would."

"Nuh-uh. Catch me if you can." He suddenly turned around skated really fast and far ahead of me. Eventually, I caught up to him and even passed him. I started to make way to the farthest edge of the circular rink.

I heard Ross shout something so I looked back. He seemed to be fine. I guess he was just mad about losing. I laughed and kept on skating. I glanced back again and saw that he was catching up to me. I felt his arms around my waist and giggled as I tried to free myself from his strong grip.

With one swift movement, I was literally swung in the opposite direction that I was originally headed.

"Gosh. Competitive much." I joked as I turned around. To my surprise, Ross wasn't there. "Ross….."

I scanned the rink but there was no sign of him. I looked to where I had been skating and saw that the ice was dark and thin. There were several cracks and all of them led up to a dented hole in the smooth white ice. Then it hit me. Ross had went under. That whole time he was yelling, he was probably trying to tell me to turn around. The reason he forcefully pushed me out of his way was so that he could take the fall for me.
