Katie's POV
I sat up a bit to see that my husband was crying a little bit. We were watching the beginning of a movie and I suppose it was a bit sad.
"Are you crying?" I asked, wiping away the tears I could reach.
"It's a movie about a mother who is viciously murdered along with most of the children. Then the father loses his handicapped son. He meets a woman with short-term memory the only two survivors, nearly die on their adventurous trek to find the son."
"Riker, you are being so dramatic." I chuckled.
"I am not, Babe."
"It's Finding Nemo."
"Yeah. It's like the saddest movie in the universe."
"Again. Dramatic."
"It's nearly as tragic as your hair in the morning."
"Heyyyyy. You makin' fun of my hair?" I giggled. "Because sometimes, my messy hair is your fault."
"True." Riker bit his lip with a wink.
He leaned over to kiss me but the front door swung open with lots of happy squeals.
"Mommy! Daddy!" Our four-year-old daughter, Britta greeted us.
"Hi B." Riker practically jumped off the couch. "Did you have fun?"
"Yeah. We went swimming and made s'mores and ate lots of candy. We went shopping and had a water ballon fight and a paint war and jumped on the trampoline."
"Whoa. That sounds pretty rad."
Britta (who had a lot to say for a three-year-old) and her older brother, Thor, spent the weekend at Mimi and Grandpa's. Stormie always said the kids could call her "anything but Granny and Grandma" so they call her Mimi.
"Uncle Rocky even let me have bubblegum." Britta added. "He said 'chew, chew, chew and don't you swallow it, Silly Girl' so I can't swallow it."
"Oh did he? Giving a little girl gum?" I chuckled. "Hmm...I'll have to discuss that with him."
"Hi Mommy. Hi Daddy." Thor walked in.
I hugged my kids, we chatted with Mark and Stormie, and then started another movie.
"What are we watching?" Thor asked.
"I don't know. Daddy picked it."
"Daddy, what did you pick?"
"Tangled."
"Oh. Tangled is cool. I like Tangled."
"Me too, Kid. Me too."
We watched the movie and I almost made it through without crying. We got to paper lantern part and I totally lost it and more than usual.
Britta gave me a weird look and just stared at me but Thor scooted closer to me and rubbed my arm.
"Daddy always says a good gentleman takes care of his girl and makes sure they're okay. Are you okay, Mommy?"
"Aww. Thor, you're too sweet. Yes, I'm okay. These are happy tears."
"Okay good."
"Do you need anything? A drink? A bandaid?"
"Oh my gosh. You're the cutest. I-"
"But you said I was cute too, Momma." Britta interjected.
"It's okay, Brit." Riker chuckled. "Mommy me cute the other day too. I think she uses that term loosely and kind of tosses it around."
"She what?"
"Never mind, Baby."
I giggled and then focused on the movie. Once it was over, the kids played football in the backyard with Riker. While I waited for the taco meat to finish cooking, I watched my little squad outside. Thor was tackling Riker and Britta was trying to catch a butterfly with the football still in her hand. Britta was literally me. I wasn't a skilled football player like certain people (Thor and Riker) think they are.
Dinner was finished and the three crazies walked up to the deck and went inside to wash their hands. They came back out and helped me set the table before we ate.
During dinner, Britta and Thor told us all about their weekend.
"So how was your weekend, Mommy?"
Riker choked on his food but then broke into a huge smirk.
I could feel my cheeks growing warm and tried to think of other things that Riker and I did. I felt kinda pathetic cuz we really did nothing else but I had to think of something.
"We cuddled and watched movies." I finally replied.
There. That was sorta accurate.
"Mhmm." Riker nodded with narrowed eyes.
"That's it?"
"Umm...I'm glad you two had fun but that kinda sounds a little boring." Thor stated. "Just sayin'."
"Yep but we had fun and that's all that matters."
"Mhmm."
Riker would not get that idiotic smirk on his face and he kept snickering. I wanted to elbow him but the kids were right there so...
"What's so funny?" Britta asked.
"Umm...I just remembered a funny joke." He lied.
"Tell us!" She squeaked.
"Okay...uhhh....ready?" He stalled.
"Yeah."
"What time did the guy go to the dentist?"
Britta already began laughing. "I don't know."
"Tooth hurt-y."
I laughed a little harder than I should at his lame joke and him having to explain it to the kids a million times made it funnier and lamer.
The next morning, I woke up sick and had a suspicion as to what, or more accurately, who was making me sick. I took a test and the results were positive. I was pregnant and now I had to figure out how to tell Riker.

++++++++
Ooooh. How's Katie gon' tell her boo? Seriously, Woman. How ya gonna tell him? I'm done writing your life for you. You're a grown lady.
Hehehehe jk. Part two will be soon...because I'm sick...and lame...and stay in bed writing...and then I get up to eat and dance...and then fangirl for a bit before going to bed. I live an odd life yo.
