Lexy's POV

Ugh. Traffic. You'd think LA only had one road running through it. California was known for it's heavy traffic and the city of Los Angeles had some of the worst traffic jams ever. I moved down the highway at the speed of an elderly tortoise. I finally decided to embrace the fact that I'd be stuck here for awhile. Thankfully, I wasn't in any rush so I focused on driving and eventually, I made it through the traffic jam.

Once I was on the freeway, I rolled down my windows and enjoyed the ride. The fresh air streamed into the car; the breeze causing my hair to dance in the wind. I turned on the music and R5's All Night began to play.

By the time the bridge of the song came around, I was full-on jamming out.

"WE'LL BE AAAAALLLLLRIIIIGHTTTT." I sang at the top of my lungs.

I exited off the freeway and pulled up to the traffic light. While I was stopped, a car pulled up beside me. I stopped jamming out but kept the music up. Glancing to my left, I caught a glimpse of the driver next to me. It was a guy and I could tell he was cute without entirely looking. I finally got a good look and nearly froze. Without taking my eyes off of the attractive dude to my left, I groped around for the volume control on my stereo. I was internally screaming.

ABORT MISSION. STOP MUSIC. PAUUUUUSSSEEE. ROSS. SHOR. LYNCH.

I was only a few feet and a couple car doors away from Ross and I was hoping that he didn't hear my music. Unfortunately, he obviously did because he winked, nodded, and drove away when the light was green. Oh my gosh. I sat there with my jaw dropped and the person car behind me blew their horn. Oops. The light was green in my lane too. Duh.

After recovering from my rush of emotions, I turned my music on again. I decided to grab a smoothie on the way home so I exited the freeway. Taking the next right, I pulled up in front of the cute milkshake place and parallel parked near the curb.

Since I parked a few blocks down from the milkshake shop, I had to walk a little bit. I walked down the sidewalk in a carefree manner. Once I entered the shop, I looked at the artsy chalkboard on which the menu was written. I decided on a smoothie flavor and waited patiently in line. After two minutes or so, the line still hadn't moved. I leaned out of the line to see who was holding up everybody. I let out an audible gasp when I saw that it was Ross. The lady at the cash register was making small talk with him and he was politely trying to bring the conversation to an end. When the line finally moved up, a few more people bought milkshakes and then it was my turn. I gave the woman my order and one of the other employees started mixing my milkshake. I also ordered some French fries since I was kinda hungry.

"Okay. That'll be $6.25." The cashier said.

"$6.25? Got it." I grinned. I groped around for my bag but immediately realized it wasn't with me. No bag. No wallet. No money. No milkshake. No fries.

I sighed and spoke to the woman. "Sorry. I left my wallet in the car. I'll be right back. You can just leave my food to the side or-"

"No worries." I heard Ross's voice. He put his arm out, causing me to stop walking. "I got this."

I whirled around and began to blush. I was still in his embrace and he wasn't about to move his arm anytime soon.

"Oh no, no, no. You don't have to pay for me. I'll just run-"

"I know I don't have to. I want to."

My cheeks grew even warmer when I realized the people still in line were staring at us. Ross graciously paid for my fries and shake.

"You in a hurry?" He asked.

"No. Not at all." I replied. "Why?"

"Wanna sit with-"

"YES!" I answered with waaaaay too much excited haste.

Ross chuckled and his laughter sounded like all the angels of heaven. "I was gonna say 'wanna sit with that old lady while I sit over here' so...."

"No you weren't." I giggled.

"Nah. I'm just messin' with ya."

I sat down across from the attractive, bright-eyed blonde boy.

"So what's your name?" He asked.

"Lexy." I smiled. "What's yours?"

He tried to keep a straight face. "Ross."

"Oh right." I giggled nervously. "Duh."

"Hmm...Lexy Lynch." Ross thought aloud. "I like it."

"Oh but that's not my last name." I half-smiled. "At least not yet."

"Don't worry." He winked. "It will be someday."
