Jordan’s POV
I woke up and attempted to push my husband’s arm off of me. He was snoring loudly and I couldn’t tell if he was faking or nah. Instantly his grip tightened around me which meant I couldn’t get up.

“Ell. I know you’re awake.”

“No I’m not.” He mumbled. Eventually, he sat up and ran a hand through his messy hair. “Just like three more minutes? Please?”
“Okay.” I smiled. “I’m gonna go shower.”
“Mhmm….” He put his head back on the pillow and closed his eyes.

I showered quickly and realized I had to wake Ellington up. He was supposed to be at rehearsal and I had to take all the kids shopping with me.  Then we had to wake up at three in the morning to catch a flight out to Pennsylvania. This was gonna be our first time on a plane with eight kids. I remember Ratliff pretending to sob when he saw the total cost for all our tickets. This will be fascinating.
“Ellington.” I shook him gently. Since being kind and gentle didn’t work it was time to smack him with a pillow.

“Ellington. Lee. Ratliff. Get. Your. Butt. Outta. Bed.” I said with each whack.

“Okay. Okay. I’m awake.” He giggled and rolled off the bed. I thought I had won but he grabbed me and I fell beside him.
“Let’s sleep in all day and do absolutely nothing.” He pulled the covers over us.
“Umm…let’s be useful instead.” I poked his nose. He gave me a dimple-saturated smile.

“Oh yeah…I guess parents should be kinda useful.”
“Kinda.”

“Okay. Oh and good morning, Beautiful.” He winked giving me a kiss.

“Morning.”
I smiled as I walked down the hallway. Eleven years ago, I was a crazy chick holding up a poster at an R5 concert that said ‘Ratliff marry me!’.  Only a year later, he was holding up a ring asking me to marry him. Now we have eight kids. What can I say? We are in love.

First, I stopped at Noele, Ramona, and Mara’s room. Noele is seven, Ramona is six, and Mara is four.
“Good morning, girls.” I knelt down to hug them.
“Hi. Mommy. Guess what?” my six-year-old asked.

“We helped Mara get dressed.”
“I noticed and I’m so proud of you.”
“Do you like my scarf?” Mara wondered.

“It’s umm…very creative but leggings don’t go around your neck. You wear them on your legs. Like this.” I sat her down and fixed her leggings.
“Oh. Cool.” Mara inspected her leggings.

“I like them as a scarf better but…” Noele reasoned.
I laughed. “Thanks for waking up girls.”
“You’re welcome.” They all said.

Then, I headed next door to find my boys hanging from their bunk beds. Ten-year-old Garrett was the only one dressed and he was reading a book.

“Heyyyyyyyyyyyyy….”  Camden greeted me.

“What are ya’ll even doing?”
“Mommy. Help.”  Tai, who was only three, needed help down.
I helped him and put him down. “All you silly monkeys need to get dressed and then you can have waffles.”
As soon as I said “waffles”, all the boys were scrambling around trying to get dressed.

Lastly, I headed to Olive and Zeke’s room. They still shared a room because Olive was only two and Zeke was nine months. Olive’s little bed was on the left side of the room and Zeke’s crib was on the other.
Olive was awake having “an important discussion” with Zeke who was asleep. I woke him up and dressed them both.

So there ya have it. All our wonderful kids;  Garret Rider , Noele Tyler, Ramona Skye, Mara Saige, Camden Avery, Tai Grady, Olive Jacey, and Zeke Miles.

“So what are we doing today, Mommy?” Noele asked putting an excessive amount of syrup on her waffles.

“We’re going shopping.”
“Ooh. Yay.”
“Okay so guys. Guess what?”
“What?” Camden and Mara asked. Then they both exclaimed. “JINX!” I chuckled at my amusing twins.
“We’re going on a plane really early in the morning. So tonight we gotta go to bed super early.”
Noele clapped with excitement. “Ooh. Are we gonna be in the sky and-”
She was cut off by the sharp sobbing of Ramona. “I don’t wanna be so high up.” She cried bitterly.

Ellington got up and pulled the crying child onto his lap. “Aww. Mona. Shh…no more tears. Being in an airplane is really fun and we’ll sit next to you and you’ll get to watch a bunch of movies and eat candy.”
“Candy? For real?”
“I promise.”
“Yay.” She sniffed.

“Garrett. Book.” I said noticing he was trying to read at the table again. Don’t get me wrong; reading is fantastic and I was so glad he was so into books but he wouldn’t even talk with the rest of the family when he was reading.

He sighed and handed me the book.
“What if the airplane drops from the sky and we all crash and die?” He asked.

I gave him a look but Ramona started sobbing again. Oh gosh. This would be quite interesting….
