Becca’s POV
I grabbed my phone and keys and decided to go for a walk. I didn’t have work today so I was excited to spend the day chilling and knocking about. I hummed to myself as I locked my door behind me and headed over to the sidewalk. I had a place all to myself and sometimes it got really boring. I walked a couple paces but then realized I kinda wanted to bring one of my cameras with me. I skipped back up to my little home and grabbed my lovely Canon Rebel. That was one of my favorite camera brands so I had many.
I repeated the process of locking my door and stepped back out. I decided to wander over to the park. I was always that weirdo who took pictures of strangers at the park because I really liked taking action and candid shots. Life was so artsy and I loved it.
I sat in the grass under a tree and kicked off my shoes. I snapped pictures of a little girl playing with the colorful bubbles that her mum was blowing. There was also a really cute elderly couple sitting on a bench so of course I had to capture that. There was also a guy sitting and writing in a notebook. He looked very deep in thought so I casually took a picture because the lighting was superb.
I put my camera down and did a double-take. Oh my stars! It’s that boy again! I could have jumped up, ran over to him, and hugged him but:
1. He probably didn’t remember me
2. I didn’t wanna freak him out
3. I wasn’t sure if it was actually him
4. I was a bit too shy
5. I didn’t want to be a disturbance
6. I could go on…and on…and on….
I sat there like a creepy stalker and stared. Thankfully, he was farther away so it wasn’t obvious that I was staring. After confirming that the guy was indeed the blonde bombshell I ran into (literally) at Starbucks a few weeks ago, I mentally freaked out…or freaked in.
He was so cute and the fact that he was just sitting there writing or whatever he was doing made me so happy.
Suddenly, my phone vibrated in my pocket. I grabbed it and checked the caller ID. It was a number I didn’t recognize. I could never ignore my phone calls because that was the number that clients called whenever they wanted to do a photoshoot or something.
I greeted the caller and she excitedly returned the cheerful attitude.
“Hi. Okay so here’s the deal. You can tell me if this is too last-minute for you.” She said.
“Alright. Go for it.” I grinned.
“Do you think you would be able to do a shoot this afternoon? There’s five people and maybe six…I don’t know yet.” She chuckled.
“Oh sure.” I replied. “Does noon work for you?”
“Only if it works for you. I have the address for your studio and everything. I just need to find all of my kiddos because they’re the ones you’ll be photographing.”
“Oh of course. That totally works.” I giggled. “Oh and I’m sorry. I didn’t get your name.”
“Oh my stars. Of course. So sorry. My name is Stormie. Stormie Lynch.”
“Lovely. I’m Becca.”
“Such a pretty name.”
“Thank you.” I grinned. “Well I shall see you soon!”
“Bye, Becca.”
I quickly gathered my things and took one last look at the boy many feet away. He stopped writing and looked down at his phone. From way over where I was sitting, I could tell he wasn’t too happy about what he saw on his phone. He got up and headed to the exit of the park. I sorta unintentionally followed him out but he didn’t see me. We parted ways in the parking. He walked to his blue Toyota and I walked out of the lot. It was just going on eleven so I had some time to walk back and set up everything. I arrived home and freshened up a bit. Honestly, I wasn’t sure if I was doing a shoot with six little kids or six adults or what so I was kinda nervous. Depending on their preference and style, I’d probably take a couple snaps outside too. I don’t know…I’ll just have to wait and see. Time seemed to pass ever so slowly and when the doorbell rang, I almost squealed before remembering to be professional.
