Rebecca's POV
I was sitting by the door with my suitcase and a couple bags. I was bundled up from head to toe and was tempted to go play in the snow. There really wasn't even that much snow. I could still see the grass. There was a fresh thin powder on the ground from last night's snow. It rarely snowed here in Cali but ti was a crazy weather and winter seriously could not make up its mind. Instead, I was headed on a long, road trip to Colorado with a family that was really close to mine. Literally and figuratively; I mean they lived down the road. We had lived in the same neighborhood for over five years and I was invited to spend a week in Littleton with them.
This wasn't their usual Lynch Family Christmas trip yet they were so kind to take me to Colorado since I'd never been. I wanted to sit next to Rydel and chat the whole way there. As long as I wasn't stuck next to one of those nasty boys for the trip, I'd be fine. Okay...so not all of them were nasty. Ryland was very creative, Rocky was downright hilarious, Riker was funny in his own sorta way, but Ross just bothered me for some reason. I dunno he got on my last nerve sometimes. Actually all the time.
Their new black van pulled up in front of my house and Mr. and Mrs. Lynch jumped out to help me with my luggage. Oh did I mention, it's four in the morning? Yeah. Who would get up at the unruly hour? Honestly, I was too excited to care.
"Rebecca!!! I'm so happy to see you! I'm glad you're dressed warmly. I don't think it will ever stop snowing!" Stormie said enthusiastically.
"I'm sure it will. This is gonna be so much fun."
"You can sit next to Rossy in the back." She said getting into the front.
I got into the car and the only people they were awake were Delly, Rocky, and Ry.
"Hey guys."
"Yo." Rocky mumbled.
Ryland just smiled but Rydel practically jumped out of her seat and attacked me with hugs just like her mom. Oh I loved them so much.
I took a seat in front of Rydel and sleeping Riker. Ross's head was leaning against the window and he was out cold snoring. Ugh.
"So this trip normally takes 14 to 17 hours. Of course it's only like 17 hours if there's traffic." Mark informed us. "...or snow."
"Oh great." I grumbled to myself. "Seventeen hours next to Bratty Shor."
Ross stretched and sat up. He looked at me and frowned.
"Oh. It's you. I thought I smelled someone gross."
I glared at him and glued my eyes to my phone.
"Mom, when are we getting breakfast?" I asked Stormie. I loved the fact that Mark and Stormie let me call them 'Mom' and 'Dad'.
"How about at seven?"
"Okay. Awesome."
