Oh my goodness, Katelyn, it took forever to get this up but it finally happened YAY! I hope you like it.
Also, if you ever see the name "Kathleen" in the imagine, it's cuz your beautiful name autocorrects to Kathleen (which is also a great name but...not your name XD) so yeah. I tried to fix it but just figured I'd let you know hahaha.
Katelyn's POV
"No, Delly. There's no way I'm wearing this bikini."
"OMG. Kate. You gotta wear it. It'll look so good on you."
At the current moment, my best friend for five years and counting was attempting to help me get ready for our pool party. Our birthdays were exactly a week apart so we had an annual double birthday bash. It was the best! I had met Rydel when she first moved from Colorado to California. She was actually quite brokenhearted initially and I understand because she left all that she knew to come here. It took forever for her to actually let me cheer her up. Eventually, she was back to the chipper, happy, bubbly girl she always had been. I got to know her family better and at their house nearly every Friday night. I would chill out while Rydel rehearsed with R5 and then we'd hang out together and watch movies and have sleepovers. Now life was busier, the band was now soaring with success, and we both had crazy awesome careers. Umm...also side note: I've had a crush on her little brother, Ross, for five years and counting but that's not important....pfft. Not at all.
"Rydel Mary Lynch." I said as sternly as I could. "I am not wearing this canary yellow bikini and that's that. End of conversation."
"Yeah you are and I'm gonna win this one. I always do."
"But I'll look like a highlighter or a tropical bird. Yellow is NOT my color."
"It will look so good with your tan."
"But it's so tiny and there's polka dots. I'll look like a five-year-old."
"It's cute. Just trust me."
"Nope."
"Will you at least trust me."
"Ugh. Fine." I huffed.
I snatched the two pieces of fabric from her and went into the bathroom to change. Knowing the way these disagreements usually worked, I'd hate whatever Rydel picked out for me, we'd argue it out, I'd give in and try it on, and she would be right. That's just how it always happened.
"Why do you always go in there to change?"
"What do you mean 'in there'? It's the bathroom." I laughed. "I'm changing into a bikini."
"Yeah but we're the bestest of friends. We're close."
"Rydel, I know we're close but we ain't that close."
I really didn't want to step out of the bathroom and I was annoyed because I actually didn't look too ridiculous in my swimsuit. I kinda wanted to hide in the toilet forever because I didn't want to traipsing around the Lynch's backyard in my obnoxious bikini.
"True." She giggled. "Now stop trying to climb into the toilet and get out here."
"How you know I was even considering that?"
"Because I know you super well, Silly."
I reluctantly opened the door and revealed my new attire.
"OOH! YOU LOOK SO CUTE!!!" Rydel shrieked. "Ross will not be able to ignore you.
"Shhhh...what if one of the boys is upstairs? Someone might hear you and tell him I like him."
"Then you should tell him before anyone else does."
"Oh he's just so sweet, kind, attractive and adorable and I can't tell him. What if he doesn't feel the same way?" I ranted. "He's just so hot too. Did I already say that? I did. Like how is he so good-looking? Seriously. How? Is he ever ugly? Does he ever have those ugly 'Netflix and leggings' days?"
"Katelyn. Chill." Rydel bursted with laughter. "First of all, my brother does not and never will wear leggings."
"Oh. Right." I buried my face in my hands.
"Secondly, you better tell him, Girl. I'm dying from the suspense. It's been five hundred years."
"My life is not a movie and it's not that suspenseful."
"Yes it is. It's a matter of life and death."
"You're ridiculous." I rolled my eyes.
"Love you too." She replied sarcastically. "Okay so now that we've established that you look like a goddess let's go downstairs and greet guests."
I tossed a little sundress over my bikini and headed out to the hallway. All of a sudden, Rocky came out of nowhere and the three of us screamed and scared each other. Rocky, whose hair was wet from the pool, threw the towel he was using to dry off at Rydel and me. Rydel hid behind me and I started to laugh.
"Rydel, he's your brother. Not mine." My stomach started to hurt from laughing. "Why are you hiding?"
"I don't know!" She squealed in the same pitch we had both been screaming.
"Why are you girls creepin' around?" Rocky whined. "You're freaking me out."
"Us?" I asked, stunned. "You're the one wandering the halls like a lost ghost."
"Whatever. You guys should come swim instead of freaking out about Ross."
My heart nearly stopped beating. "You heard us?!?!?"
"'It's a matter of life and death. Oh my gosh. Ugh. He's just so cute. How is he so perfect?'" Rocky dramatically imitated me.
I wanted to smack him across the face but I refrained.
"Rocky, I swear if you tell him..." I tried to threaten him but ended up laughing.
"Don't worry. I won't." Rocky reassured me.
"Promise?"
"Promise."
"I don't trust you." I stated skeptically.
"I'm serious, Katelyn." He said solemnly. "I know I mess with you a lot but I wouldn't do that to you."
"Aww. Thanks, Rocky."
"But for real, you better tell him. I'm dying from the suspense." He mocked Rydel. "I'm gonna die."
"Shut up, Rock."
"What?" He feigned innocence. "That's what you said."
"Ugh. Just pick up your dumb towel, Brat." She rolled her eyes playful.
As soon as Rocky bent over, she gave him a good, hard shove and he unintentionally somersaulted into the nearest wall.
"Run." Rydel said, grabbing my hand as we ran for cover.
"Ouch. Rydel! You two are really gonna pay for that!!!"
Laughing and tripping repeatedly, Rydel and I raced down the stairs.
