Maxine's POV

Today is audition day and I am SO nervous. It is a very big deal because of the amazing arts school I want to join. The whole squad was gonna be there to cheer me on and support me.

Courtney would most likely be there too since she and Ross seemed pretty close.

I made sure I had everything before driving to the studio myself. The others would meet me there. The sign-in process was tedious and that was making me even more nervous. Thankfully, I finished signing in and now I could go stretch. Stretching helped me to relax a bit but I was still shaking and my heart was pounding.

"Okay...dancers in Group A, please follow me." A nice woman said.

Oh right. I'm in Group A. Oh my.

It actually hit me that I was auditioning and excitement soon took over my nerves.

The first stage of auditions was held in the studio. We warmed up and did a few combinations. Some were extremely easy or extremely intricate. I made a few friends but that wasn't what I was here for. I was determined to get a spot in this school and then I'd make friends.

The second and final stage of auditions took place in a huge auditorium. We had to perform two dances within two different genres of dance that showed off our abilities. Some dancers did hip-hop and jazz, others did contemporary and ballet, and some did acro and lyrical. I chose to do hip-hop and lyrical since they were two completely different styles.

I began with my lyrical piece and had the time of my life. I felt like I was soaring through the sky every time I leapt through the air.

I had a costume change in between dances so that meant a break for everyone else. I'm pretty sure I was being judged for how fast I could change. I think I changed at the speed of light...if I may so myself.

My hip-hop dance audition was way more laid-back. People were cheering and enjoying the music as much as I was. I caught a glimpse of the Lynches and Ratliff in the audience. Family and friends were invited to this part of the audition and that made it way less stressful.

I finished my audition, changed into different clothes, and sat patiently in my seat. Finally, everyone had finished dancing and we were free to leave. Our results would be emailed to us in a week.

I grabbed my bags and, just as I was about to start walking, I was attacked with hugs. I was sandwhiched between Stormie, Riker, and Rydel and there was a lot of blonde hair in my face.

"You were fantastic up there." Riker high-five me.

"Thanks, Riker."

"Seriously, though." Rocky grinned. "You've got some legit moves."

"Is this a dance battle challenge?"

Rocky laughed. "Actually it wasn't but it is now."

"Well you better be prepared to lose."

"You mean 'win'."

"Nope. I meant lose."

I bickered with Rocky and goofed off with the others.

Rydel's POV

Maxine was laughing and enjoying herself. I was glad she was so happy but I worried that she'd notice Ross wasn't here today. He had some important meeting or something that he absolutely had to be at. I think he should've been here since he had promise to be here months ago.
