Riker's POV
Kat and I had just gotten out of Hollister and decided to go to a random store for fun.
"Eww. Dude. This store is for elderly people."
"I know." She giggled. "Let's go." Oh my gosh. Everything about Kat made me smile.
We went into the old-person store and crinkled our faces at the smell of old lady perfume. I personally loved elderly people. They could be so sweet, kindhearted, and sometimes very wise.
One lady stopped Kat and I.
"Can I help you find anything?" A lady came and asked us.
"Umm...we're just looking. Thanks, though." Kat said politely.
"Okay. Well lemme know if you need anything." She said sweetly.
I smiled. "Okay. Thank you."
We snickered and headed out of the store.
"Wanna get some fro-yo?" I offered.
"Meh. Sure." Kat shrugged.
"Oh please. Don't act like you ain't excited."
"Fine. I won't contain my excitement." She let out a huge squeal.
We headed over to a fro-yo store in the mall called Kiwi. It was the best.
"For you, My Friend." I said handing her a bowl to fill.
"Why thank you, Sir." She said taking the bowl and filling it.
Kat took out her wallet. "Okay so I'll pay for mine and you can-"
I took her dessert from her hand. "That's cute. You think you're paying. How adorable."
I paid the cashier and gave Kat her fro-yo.
"Ugh, you're so annoyingly sweet, Riker."
"And you're just annoying." I replied flatly.
"Hey...Rude."
"Ooh let's sit down." I said walking over to the food court. We put our bags down and enjoyed our treat.
Kat's POV
"Aww man. We forgot to grab lunch...and breakfast." I sighed.
Riker laughed. "It's okay. Life is short. Why not eat dessert first?"
I chuckled at his advice and continued eating.
"Wanna go to H&M next?" Riker asked.
"Sure!"
We grabbed our bags and trekked to the escalator. As we were ascending, I said,"Riker, I dare you to shout, 'I'm a loser' as loud as possible." I snickered.
"Ugh. Why? Why must I be friends with you? The struggle is real." He facepalmed.
Riker took a deep breath and screamed,"I'M A LOSER!!!!" A few people turned and giggled, others waved, and some people just stared.
"I will make you pay for that, Kat."
"Oh dear."
"That's right. Be afraid."
We headed to the store and I immediately ran to the sales rack.
I grabbed a few items and headed to the dressing room. There were a few so I picked the one all the way at the end of the hall.
"Hey Riker, be honest. Do you like this dress?" I said stepping out. There was no answer.
"Hang on." I heard Riker. He sounded like he was in the dressing room next to me. What on earth?
"Gosh darn it. These are hard to get into." I heard him grunt.
I stepped out of my dressing room and knocked on the door to his.
He opened the door and I immediately died of laughter. Riker was wearing a lavender skater skirt, a floral top, and a flower crown.
"Don't I look oh so hot?" I said puckering up his lips.
"Yes. You look fabulous."
Of course we had to take selfies so we posed and took several pictures.
"How's everything going...umm...." One of the dressing room attendants came back. She must of heard the incessant giggling.
Her face went pale when she saw Riker decked out in girl's clothes.
"Oh. My. I...oh gosh." She laughed. We all laughed and then went back to change.
I tried on several dresses and Riker helped me with some uhh..."constructive" criticism...
"Too tight." "Too short." "Too grey." "Too sparkly." "Too weird." "Too fluffy." "Too gross."
"Too...eww...just no."
Finally, I came out in a long blue maxi dress with red stripes. "Ooh. I like it. I like it a lot."
I chucked at his excited face. Of course I bought like a hundred other things and we headed out of the store.
I put all my stuff in my car and Riker still hand his couple of bags with him.
"Okay. Well I had so much fun. Thanks so much for protecting me from the evil mob and shopping with me." I laughed.
"Absolutely." He replied genuinely. I reached on my tip-toes and gave him a hug.
"Later, Dork." He said heading to his car.
"See ya, Dorkier DorkFace."
I smiled as I drove home with the windows down and the music up. That was seriously the most fun I'd had in awhile and it was the perfect way to kick off the summer.
