Rocky's POV
I looked at the address Chasidy gave me and found that her street was right across the slightly dangerous road. When it was finally safe to cross, I jogged across the road.
"Okay...212..." I said looking at all the house numbers. Found it!
I walked up the driveway, past all the nice plants and flowers and rang the doorbell. The door was wide open and I could see the cupcakes on the counter through the screen door. I checked to see if the screen door was unlocked and it was. I kicked my Converse off, exposing my green and blue polka-dotted socks.
I walked in slightly curious as to where she was. I could've called her name but I didn't feel like it. The TV was on and Nemo was playing. I assumed she was on the couch. I simply sat on the countertop and waited.
Chasidy's POV
Where was Rocky? This movie was making me sad. I stopped the movie and headed into the kitchen.
"I'm gonna check to see if he texted me again" I said aloud, this time talking to the bookshelf I walked by. I marched into the kitchen to get my phone.
"Looking for this." Rocky said handing me my phone.
I screamed and started to fall backwards but he hopped off the counter and caught me.
"You scared me, Idiot!" I shrieked.
"Oh. Oops." He said insincerely.
"Ya know you could've knocked..."
"Yeah but the door was unlocked so I just kinda sat here and listened to you cry over Nemo."
"I wasn't crying..." I lied.
"It's okay to cry." He said lightheartedly. "I cry so much during that movie, I could cry more tears than the freaking ocean Nemo swims in."
I blushed and bit lip. "Well thanks Middle Child."
"You're welcome...oh I almost forgot to hug you." He said in a childlike tone.
I giggled as he pulled me close. I took a deep breath. He smelled so good.
"You smell like sugar, flour, butter, eggs, milk... Mmmm...." Rocky announced.
"Is that a good thing?"
"That you smell like cake? Heck yeah!"
"Oh good. Well I have all the icing over here." I said walking over to where the trays of dessert were.
Without warning, I put a spoonful in Rocky's mouth.
"I'm allergic to dairy." He said flatly.
"Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry...are you gonna be okay?"
His face went blank and literally collapsed on the kitchen floor. I was in shock and even more so when he jumped back up and started laughing. He was bent over clutching his stomach.
"I got you so good. You should've seen your face. You were all panicked and stuff...I was dying!" He could not stop laughing. It was so funny. We were both laughing uncontrollably and tears were streaming down Rocky's face.
"Don't worry. I'm not actually allergic to dairy. My sister is though..."
"Oh she is? I should make her a whole batch of those dairy-free brownies that she always gets."
"She'd like those." Rocky said pushing his hair out of his face.
I put on an apron but Rocky made a pouty face.
"What? I don't get a pretty apron?"
"Oh. Sorry. How rude of me to forget."
I handed Rocky a white apron that was dotted with little red hearts.
"C to the U to the T-E CUTE!!!" He said goofily. I rolled my eyes.
"Mmkay, you gotta take a huge dollop of icing and spread it as evenly as you can."
"Okay. I'll try..." He said unsure of himself.
"It's easy, Middle Child."
We worked in silence for a moment until I looked over and saw that Rocky had already perfectly iced a dozen cupcakes. I had only done four.
"What? No fair."
Rocky looked up, "Wait...wha...Am I doing it wrong?" He scrunched his eyebrows.
"No. You're just so much faster that I am."
"Oh that's because I go like this." He took a huge scoop of icing and smeared it on my face. "Oops that was meant for the cupcake. Better get a fresh spatula. This one's contaminated."
I couldn't even fight back because I was laughing too hard and trying to get the icing off my face. I could tell this would be a lot of fun.
