freshman year

"Shawn.....I'm scared." You said while pulling on your hair.

Shawn grabbed your hand and held onto it.

"It'll be fine y/n." Shawn ran his finger across your hand.

He gave you a braces filled smile and you returned the smile.

You both walked into the front doors hand in hand.

Later that day....

"She's so ugly"

"Those braces make her mouth look so disgusting."

"Who where's braids like that anymore?"

"I've seen prettier black girls."

Back to back the comments came. You held the tears in as they kept talking behind your back.

"Y/teacher/n. May I go to the bathroom? I don't feel so well." You cracked.

"Of course y/n, I hope you feel better."

You then rushed out the door before they could see the tears drop.

You then bumped into a hard chest. You looked up and saw Shawn smiling at you.

"Oh hey y/n! You will not believe how many people are accepting me already it's so coo- hey are you alright?"

"I'm fine- you know what? I'm not okay! I've been teased and talked about all day." You were then sobbing.

Shawn pulled you into a hug.

"It'll get better y/n. I promise. I'll always be here okay?" He held you tighter.

"Okay."

•sophomore year

You began to manage the teasing and taunting and started standing up for yourself.

You joined clubs and got more involved. You gained a great amount of friends but you weren't considered popular.

Shawn on the other hand, knew about everyone in school. He got his braces off and worked on his acne. Girls were starting to notice him and he was on the hockey team.

You two kept in touch but not like you used to. Whenever you'd arrange something, something would always come up.

You still had your braces and never thought of makeup.

junior year

Shawn and you haven't spoken since sophomore ended and you couldn't do anything about it.

He was popular. You weren't.

You and a group of friends decided to go to this party that some popular kids were throwing because you had nothing better to do.

Your were dressed in an acceptable fashion and your natural hair had grown out to your shoulders.

You and your friends were having a good time. Occasionally you were given a drink which resulted in you dancing on the table.

Antidote by Travis Scott was playing and we're getting really turnt.

Your were swaying your hips when you heard someone call your name.

Shawn p.o.v

One of my friends had decided to have one of his almost everyday parties.

I was always invited to every single one. These parties actually got really crazy.
