Chapter 49: Memories

I woke up to a bright sunlight on my face. Hala. Magtatanghali na yata! Napuyat kasi ako kagabi dahil nakatatlong movies akong pinanuod. Apat nga sana kaso sobrang inaantok na ako noon. Anong oras na ba? Ang dami ko kasing dapat gawin ngayon.

Babangon na sana ako nang bigla kong maalala 'yong napanaginipan ko. It was the same faceless man in my dream but in a different place. It was in a sort of a lake or river or a fish pond. Whatever. Basta it was a body of water and it looks enchanted.

So in my dream, it was night and I was swimming, naked. Then there was this man waiting for me from afar, his back on me. He was just standing there and waiting when he suddenly turned and walk towards me. That got me excited. At this point I still couldn't see his face because it was dark but I know he's the same man from my previous dream. He was only a few feet away but it was kind of annoying that he walks so slowly. I waited for him and then it went-poof--blank. My mind is blank. I can't remember what happened next.

Grabe siya. Binitin ako. Bakit hindi matapos-tapos ang panaginip ko? Installment ang peg? Kainis! Parang ang gwapo pa naman nung lalake sa panaginip ko. Sayang hindi ko maalala ang buong panaginip ko. Bat kasi gano'n? Tsk.

Bumangon na lang ako at tiningnan ang checklist ko ng mga gagawin ko ngayong araw. First of all, I need breakfast and coffee, of course. Then I need to clean the apartment, well, my house technically. And then, I need to do the laundry. Ugh. My most hated chore. Masyado kasing nakakapagod pero ayaw ko naman na nagpapa-laundry sa mga shops 'coz I don't trust them with my clothes. Minsan kasi hinahalo sa ibang damit, minsan naman nami-misplace nila and worse, one time, nag-shrink 'yong damit ko. Kaya never, hindi na talaga ako nagpapa-laundry ngayon. After maglaba, mamamalantsa naman ako. Gano'n talaga, walang day-off si Inday.

The last on my list is the most exciting. I need to go to the salon to get my roots retouched and my hair trimmed. Kailangan ko rin magpalinis ng kuko sa kamay at sa paa. Alam mo 'yon, the whole nine yards. I will surely need some pampering mamaya pagkatapos kong pagurin ang sarili ko. When was the last time I had them done? I can't even remember.

Actually, there are so many things I can't remember lately.

Anyway, I went on with my day and chores with the loud music playing while doing random dance party. I'm happy being alone but there's just something bothering me. Ayan na naman. I dismissed the thought immediately because I don't want it to ruin my day.

By the late afternoon, I was done with the chores and I was getting ready to go out. Rarampa ang lola mo ngayon. I might even go watch a movie or maybe do a little shopping. Basta, masaya 'to. Me time. But then again it's always my me time. #ForeverAlone

Gabi na nang makauwi ako galing sa mall. Para akong binagsakan ng tren. Pagod na pagod kasi ako sa paglalakad at saka ang dami kong bitbit. 'Yong 'little shopping' kasi ay nauwi sa bonggang shoppingan. Wala na, hindi ko na napigilan. May sale kasi.

Kumakain ako ng burger at fries habang nanunuod ng sine nang may biglang kumatok. Sino naman kaya ang maghahanap sa akin sa ganitong oras? Kababayad ko rin lang ng renta kaya hindi 'to 'yong landlady namin. Isa pa, tinatamad akong tumayo dahil maganda ang sineng pinpanuod ko.

Go away. I'm not here.

Ang kulit! Sino ba 'to? I rushed to the door to see who is knocking and when I opened it, it was the old lady from last night. My initial reaction was to panic so I closed the door and locked it. I don't have business with her so why would she be here?
