"Baby-ah, you still angry at Daddy?" Jaejoong smiled, pulling the worn out coat tighter against his shivering body. "Daddy's sorry he had to skip lunch again. But Daddy'll make sure he eat a lot later so just wait for a little while, okay baby?"
As he continued to have a one-sided conversation with his baby, Jaejoong became well aware of the curious and judging stares from the passerby. He kept his hushed whispers but chose not to look at anyone on the road.
"Just a few more minutes, okay? We'll get home soon."
Suddenly, a particularly strong wind struck him and Jaejoong had to steady his steps to make sure he won't fall. His stomach's only slightly bulging after these four months but Jaejoong had to be extra vigilant. He doesn't want to risk anything especially because his baby had to suffer so much already.
"Daddy's so sorry he can't take care of you better... But you understand why we have to live like this, right? Just a few more months... Daddy promise. We have to make sure we're okay after you're born."
Jaejoong chuckled as he felt his stomach tightened. He's used to the strange feeling by now. His baby often act up but not really in a way that cause inconvenience to him. The worst would be when he sometimes felt so full it kind of suffocate him... made him dizzy and weak. Other than that, the baby's relatively kind to him. In fact, he doesn't even experience any morning sickness or craving yet.
"That's my baby. Daddy love you so much."
Jaejoong hugged himself and increased his pace. He's honestly tired and hungry. He can't wait to get home and cook some ramen. Perhaps he'll prepare three package of them and share some with his estranged roommate.
Ever since he left the University, life had been messy and unpredictable. Abandoning his study was a little regretful but Jaejoong found it necessary. He doesn't want anyone knowing about his pregnancy in fear of alerting Yunho about it. He had to lay low for a while and must work like crazy to save money for his baby's future. Thus the reason he moved to this part of the city and shared the small room with Lina. He'd never even called his ex-teachers or the orphanage anymore. He'll probably contact them again when he's sure everything's safe but for now, he can't bother to think of how worried or disapointed they would be with his disappearance. His baby come first. His baby's his first priority until the day he died.
To be honest, Jaejoong knew the woman he's staying with is a little shady in terms of her job but the rent's too low to pass and she actually treated him kindly and never asked him any questions.
Jaejoong appreciated that the most. He sighed. "Just a little longer, baby. Hold on. Just a little longer..."
