The weeks that followed passed so quickly and before I knew it, it was time to go to California. I hadn't talked to Demi at all. I was hoping that I wouldn't run into her in LA. I knew she wasn't there. She was on tour and wouldn't be back for another three months. I had no idea where she was living and I did't know where I was living either. It was ten minutes before I had to go to the airport. I was to have a driver for two more years. That was a bust. I was sure I would get a car in a couple of years.

I got on the plane, I knew it was going to be a long ride, so I put in my headphones and drifted off to sleep. I was in first class, so I had a lot of space to stretch out. The seat next to me was empty and I was very happy about that. I put my carry-on, on that seat instead of above me. I only woke up once for a drink.

My plane landed and there was a woman waiting. I was told that she would be my driver, she had a sign that said my name. I walked up to her and she took my bag. We went out to my car and I started to talk to her. I wanted to know my driver, she was really quiet and wasn't really like Ryan.

"Hi, I want to know a little bit about you, to start off what is your name," I asked.

"My name is Elizabeth," she smiled, "what would you like me to call you?"

"Karoline will be fine," I said.

"Will do, I was told to drive you everywhere, I don't want any trouble. Tell me when you want to go somewhere and I will drive you. You start at a private academy in 5 days. I will drive you to and from school," she finished.

"Okay, is my room set up," I asked.

"I know nothing about that. Your housekeeper Mila will answer that," she said. We pulled up to our house. It was huge and there were only going to be three people living there. I went in and someone came out of the kitchen.

"You must be Ms. Karoline," she asked.

"I am her, and you must be Mila," I said.

"I am, I am your housekeeper. I will do your laundry, clean your room, and fix dinner. I will show you around," she continued, "follow me."

We went into the up-to-date kitchen. I was impressed. The kitchen opened up into a sitting area, then off off that was the backyard, It had a pool. Then the laundry room, entertainment and dining room. On the second floor, our entire bedroom and an office. Then on the third floor is a designing room and four guest bedrooms. Mine and my parents' bedroom had a bathroom and I was guessing some of the guest rooms did as well.

I went into my room and it was huge. It was way bigger than my other room. I liked it. There was a walk in closet and a bathroom that was big. I was set. Everything I needed was there and I started school in four days. I decided I didn't want people to hate me as much here, so I would try to wear the clothes that I didn't wear that often. I got my bags together for school ahead of time and decided I wanted to take a walk. My parents were off doing god knows what and I needed some air.

I walked down my street to look at all the other houses. They all had gates, so no meeting the neighbors. I wanted to do that, but I didn't want to. It was a long line of houses and it was pretty. I walked to the end and there was a private trail. I walked back toward my house and picked out my clothes for school. I went with some tribal leggings, a beige oversized see through shirt. I picked out denim colored bandeau and went with some beige heels. I got out a bandana that was for my hair and then a black ring to pull it together. I got some silver bangles and then a stay strong bracelet.

I could really design a cute outfit, but I never did. I wanted to start over. I wanted a fresh start. "I could have it here hopefully" I thought to myself. I mean I still had to live with my abusive parents, and deal with an eating disorder, self-harming, and god knows what else. I had to deal with a lot, but I didn't want to deal with bullies. I really hope that if I dress up and do my makeup and everything every day, then maybe people will like me better.

The next three days went by quick and the first day of school arrived, or at least my first day. I dressed in my outfit and then had the maid pack my lunch. I wouldn't eat it, but I didn't want others to know that. I got Elizabeth to the house, she was driving me to school. I liked walking, but I had a good outfit on, I couldn't get it dirty. I got to the academy and thank god they didn't wear uniforms. It was a huge academy. I had to walk to my first class. I was still going to sit in the back. I didn't want to sit in the front.

My first day went really quickly. I made a friend, and she would never take over for Audrey, but maybe she could fill in. Her name was Lizzie. She was really pretty and we got to be really good friends. I did't trust her enough to tell her about my private life, but I could appreciate her being there for me.

I got home and went straight up to my room. I had loads of homework to do and I needed to get started. I started on my homework and thankfully got done quickly. I didn't need a bad reputation at this school. I was really smart, so this should be a breeze. I lost another five pounds, and I finally was almost skinny enough. I could go outside anytime I wanted to, so I decided to take a walk. I didn't know anyone in the neighborhood and I wanted to, so daily walks would have to do.
