KAROLINE POV

“Miss, you can’t sleep here any longer,” a guy woke me up.

“What,” I groggily asked.

“Wait, how old are you,” this guy asked. I tried to speak, but I couldn’t. Nothing would come out.

“Here, come on lets go,” he said and grabbed me. He took me to a car and he started to drive somewhere. We came to this really nice house and he got me out of the car.

“Come one lets go and talk to my mom,” he said.

“Mom,” I called.

“I am in the kitchen,” she called back. He brought me to a kitchen and they started talking.

“James why did you bring a girl here,” his mom asked.

“I found her at the park and she looked beaten up. I couldn’t leave her there,” James said.

“Come here,” she called me over.

“I am Samantha, but you can call me Sam,” she said. I just smiled.

“Well, who are you. Where did you come from? Are you hungry? Thirsty,” she bombarded me with questions. I just shook my head no. I really wasn’t.

“Okay, well then do you want to lay down,” she asked. I nodded my head and followed her to a room. I laid down and fell almost immeadialty asleep.

Demi POV

It was around 7 and Karoline still hadn’t called. I got a knock at my door and it was the police.

“How may I help you officers,” I asked.

“Well, it is about Karoline,” he said.

“And,” I said getting worried.

“The family that has custody of her has reported her as missing. They thought she might have come to you,” they told me.

“No, but she would probably run off somewhere. Call her friends,” she said.

“We have, they took her phone away. None of them have seen her,” one of them told me.

“I knew I shouldn’t have let her go,” I said. I had Sky here and couldn’t leave to go and look for her. I had to get someone over here. I called Dallas.

“Hey Dallas, can you come watch Sky. Something urgent has come up,” I asked.

“Yeah sure, be there in a few minutes,” she said. I hurried and got my stuff together. Sky was asleep, so she shouldn’t be a problem. Dallas came through the door and came to me.

“What is up,” she asked.

“Karoline ran off from the other family,” I said.

“Why,” she asked.

“I don’t know, no one has had a chance to ask her,” I said. I got in my car and went to the other family. I knocked on the door.

“Okay, can I come in please,” I asked.

“Yeah, of course,” they said.

“If I find her, I am taking you two to court to get her back. Obviously you aren’t capable of take care of her. She doesn’t have her medicine, she doesn’t have her phone. Why would you take her phone away? I pay for it,” I asked.

“We don’t want any of our children to have a phone,” whatever her face said.

“She isn’t your child, she is mine,” I said.
