Imagine being on the couch as your husband puts a tray full of food in front of you. He sat beside you and says "You should eat something darling". "I'm not hungry" you answer. You look at your lap where you were rubbing your hands.

Darren sighs and says "It wasn't your fault y/n", coming closer to you. "If it wasn't mine, who's was it?" you asked with a sad tone. "I turned my back for one second, only one second Darren I swear" you add. "I know you did baby" he said as he put some of your hair behind your ear. "I knew I shouldn't have taken her to that park. I knew she could get hurt there" you exclaim. "Stop blaming yourself. It wasn't your fault" Darren tries to reassure you. "How could you consider me as a good mother now?" you ask quietly. "Ok, that's enough. Come on" he says as he stood up from the couch. " Where are we going?" you ask. "Come on" Darren says as he offered you his hand.

You stood up from the couch too and take his hand. He drags you along the empty corridor of your house, the corridor full with pictures of your accomplishments, pictures of your friends and your family. He took you to the nursery and slowly open the door. He brings you closer to the crib, making sure not to make too much noises. "Look at her" he says. You turned your head to the crib to see your daughter sleeping, her favorite stuffed animal pressed closely against her chest. She looked so peacefull. "See? She's fine" Darren whispers in your ear as he hugged you from behind. A few of her dark curls were hanging in front of her closed eyes. The little Hello Kitty bandage on her head didn't seem to bother her or hurt her. You smile at her, drying your tears. After a last look at this cute piece of you, you and Darren headed back to the corridor.

"You don't have to blame you for this. She fell, she got a little hurt, but she's okay. Next time, she will be more careful. That's how we all learn. And she's not going to blame you for this, and neither do I. You shouldn't either. You can't protect her from everything baby" he says. His speeches always made you feel better. He takes your hands and look at you right in the eye. "And by the way, I don't think you're a bad mom. I would never think that. You're the best mother someone could ask for...or at least you're the second best, besides my mom" he jokes. You chuckle and answer "Thank you Darren". "You're welcome" he answers as he kissed your forehead. "That's why husbands do I guess" he says with a wry smile. You softly kiss his lips, without letting go his hands. When you pull back, you were both smiling. "Come on, let's eat. I'm starving" he exclaims as he drags you back into the living room.
