Imagine. You and Darren had invited Chris to your home to catch up. Chris had Kyle on his lap and the little boy was happy to see his godfather again. "Uncle Chris!" Sami ran to the group with a book in her hands. "I finished it" she said, out of breath. "What? I gave it to you this morning!" you exclaimed. That kid was going to ruin you in books. "Yep" the 8 years old grinned proudly, "I'm that good at reading". Chris giggled and turned to her. "Did you like it?" He asked. "Duh! The story of a girl and her brother traveling in the Land Of Stories. How can I not like it?" she explained with quite some sass. "I'm glad you did sweetie" Chris answered. "Can I have the next one, Mom?" she asked you and put the book down on the table. "I'm sorry Sam, but Uncle Chris did not write the next one yet" you answered apologically. "What?!" she almost screamed in shock. She turned to her uncle again. "But... why?" she pouted. "Well, because writing takes time. But I'm working on it!" Chris replied. He smiled to cheer up Sami, but instead of a grin, her eyes grew wide. "You're working on it? So you can tell me what's gonna happen?" "No way" her uncle giggled. "Come on! Please please please" the little girl begged. "I can't. It's like a birthday wish. If I tell you, it would be ruined" he explained. "Oh" Sami sighed and looked down. "Don't be sad, baby" Darren petted his daughter's hair, "I'm sure you will get to read the next book soon". Sami nodded but didn't seem to be less sad. Chris shot a glance at you and Darren and seemed to think for a second. "Sam, can you go get the calendar on the fridge?" Chris smiled. She frowned but went to get it anyway. She came back with it and took a seat on her father's lap, facing her uncle. "Look" Chris said as he grabbed a pen. "When we get there, on the 25th..." he circled the date on the calendar. "I'll come to give you the new one. Deal?". She lifted up her head and her eyes were full of excitement and hope again. "Deal!" she grinned. She took the calendar and the pen and wrote inside the circle 'Uncle Chris bring the book'. Darren took it too to correct her spelling mistakes, which made you chuckle. "What do you say, Sami?" you reminded her. "Thank you!" she screamed and grinned.
