Imagine. Darren came back home exhausted mentally and physically. All the scenes he had to shoot were very sad, plus he had to leave this morning without seeing his family since it was so early. It was one of those days for him.
When he got home, the first thing he did was throw away his bag, and the second was to throw himself on the couch, his head resting on the armrest. Before he even had the chance to close his eyes, he heard little footsteps coming downstairs.
"Daddy! Daddy!" a little boy exclaimed joyfully and ran to him. "Hey buddy" Darren smiled at his son and gave him a kiss on the forehead. "You okay? You look sad" Kyle pouted. "I'm okay sweetie. I'm okay. Don't worry about me" he tried to reassure him and messed up his curly hair. Kyle gave him a kiss on the cheek and went back upstairs, still running and jumping on his way.
Darren laid back and couldn't help but to feel empty and sad. All he wanted was this day to be over, so he could leave it behind. Deep in thoughts, Darren didn't notice the two kids back in front of him. His two kids.
Sami was holding her little guitar and Kyle was holding Darren's with much trouble. Darren sat up and took the guitar from his son to put it on the couch next to him. "Guys, what are you doing with those?" he asked. Sami and Kyle both sat on the floor and the little girl put the guitar over her lap.
"Kyle told me you were sad. So we brought that so you won't be sad anymore!" the 7 years old explained proudly. "And we're gonna sing you a song!" Kyle grinned. Darren chuckled at the cuteness of those kids. It was crazy the power they had on his mood. Sami started to play a random melody and Kyle sang over. "Daddyyyy don't be sad! We don't like when you're sad. So smile, Daddy, smile and come play some guitaaaaar" he sang. Darren couldn't help but to giggle. "That was totally awesome guys. Thank you so much" Darren said, a grin finally back on his face.
Sami put her guitar aside and with her brother, they both hugged their father. "We love you, Daddy" Sami whispered, her face buried on Darren's neck. "I love you too guys. I love you so much" he said, squeezing them both in his arms. This day was not that bad after all.
