Imagine. It was Christmas day and ever since this morning, your kids have been playing with their new toys. You were pretty happy that Santa once more nailed it. You went out of the bathroom into peaceful silence. Both of your kids were fast asleep in their bedroom.
You put your wet hair up in a bun and joined your husband into the living room. You saw him sitting on the floor, playing with your son's Lego. "Oh my god, Dare! What are you doing? Kyle is gonna kill you for this!" you exclaim. You hurry to stand next to him and to stop him. There is nothing that Kyle loves more than Lego. Unfortunately, he got that passion from his father. "What? Come on" Darren almost groans and kept assembling the little pieces of the starship. "Babe, he spent the day organizing the pieces so it would be easier to build without searching. Oh my god, honey..." you rubbed your forehead. "He's gonna blame you for this". Darren looked up at you. "He won't be mad at me for that. I'm building it for him, that's all" he explained before going back at it. "Ok Darren, stop lying to yourself. You're doing this for you, not for him. Come on. Put it back like it was before he notices" you say and kneels down. You took the starship from your husband's hand and took off the pieces he put on and put them back in the boxes Kyle prepared. "Hey! You're no fun" Darren pouted.
"Ok then. I guess I won't give you those last gifts..." you smirk and stood back on your feet. "What?" Darren looked up at you and quickly stood back up too. "Which gifts? There is more gifts?" he asked, staring at you. You avoided his glance and smirk playfully "Since I'm no fun, not sure there is anymore". "What? Who said that? Nobody said that" Darren pulled you closer and put his hands on your waist. "You're like the most fun person ever" Darren pecks your lips and kissed your jaw and neck quickly. You tried to hold back your giggle. "But seriously though, where are they? I'm pretty sure I checked out every inch of this house in my Christmas hunt" Darren said. You looked at him and stayed silent. "Come on! You can't say there is gifts and stay silent! Please please please tell me" Darren asked and took out his best puppy eyes. You grin fondly and kiss his lips. "In the blue shoe box in my closet" you give up. "Oh man" Darren exclaims and run in your bedroom.
After a few seconds, Darren came back with two wrapped gifts. "Why is there on it 'for me from myself' written on it?" he asked confused. "You really thought I was going to stand there and watch you play?" you shrug. "Seems fair. Can I?" Darren asked with excitement. "Of course" you grin. You both teared apart the wrapping paper to see Star Wars Legos. Since you bought them, you were not that surprised, unlike your husband who was already jumping around. "Control your energy, Dare. Don't wake up the kids" you smile. "You bought me a fucking lego Millenium Falcon!" Darren squealed and eyed the box like your son would. "You're the best wife ever" Darren said and picked you up in his air after he put the box on the couch. You giggle and kiss his soft lips. He kissed back and pecked your lips several times before putting you back on your feet.
"Ok I have an idea. How about we make hot chocolate and build these Star Wars Legos until we pass out from exhaustion?" he proposed. "You're such a kid" you chuckle as you put your fingers through his black curls. "Is that a yes?" he asked and his face lit up at the thought. "Duh, of course. That seems like some true date goals" you agree. "You're the best" Darren smiled and kissed your lips one last time before high-fiving you and getting ready for going back to childhood with the best Christmas gift you could ask for: your husband.
