Imagine. For the past week you had been in NYC and today you had finally come back home to sunny LA. You decided to surprise your daughter by picking her up from pre-school. When you saw your five year old daughter, Sami, you just could not keep the smile off your face. You had only need away for a week but that was a long time when it came to your daughter.

"Mommy!" Sami squealed seeing you and ran over to you as you got out the car and hugged her, picking her up. "Hey sweetheart." You say kissing her long, dark, curls. "I missed you so much." "Missed you too, mommy." You put her back down and tucked some of her hair behind her ear and you look at her and asked. "Sweetheart, who dressed you this morning?" You ask with a giggle. "I did!" She grinned, proud of herself. "You picked out your clothes too?" You ask. She nodded. "Yup!" "Oh...thats...thats um... cute, honey." You smile. She was wearing an blue skirt, an orange shirt, green shoes and a pink coat. "And look what daddy did! He did a braid in my hair!" She says and turned around to show you. "Oh wow...that's... oh god." You giggle, putting your hand over your mouth.

"What's so funny, mommy?" Sami asks, looking up at you with her gorgeous hazel eyes. "Nothing sweetheart, just... i could just tell daddy did that, that's all." "It's totally awesome!" she grinned. You roll your eyes and smile, putting her in the car and heading home. "We're home!" You called, walking into the house holding Sami's hand. "(Y/n)?!" Darren said from the kitchen, surprised and walked out to the hall. "Daddy! Look! Mommy is here! She's home!" Sami grinned. "Surprise." You smiled softy and Darren smiled back and went to say something but Sami beat him too it. "Daddy, mommy said she liked my braid." She says. "See, I told you she would baby." He says and grinned and high fived his daughter and then walked over to you and hugged you tightly.

It felt like you hadn't had his arms around you in forever. "I missed you so damn much." He says, not letting you go. You wrapped your arms around his neck. "I missed you too..." You whispered. Darren pulled back slightly and then peppered your face with kisses causing you to scrunch up your face. "Ew! Cooties!" Sami says, pulling a face. You smiled against Darren's lips and placed one last kiss on then before pulling back. "You need to work on that." You say to him gesturing to Sami's braid. "Uh, why? It's awesome." He says. You raised your eyebrows at him. "Firstly, you need three bits of hair to make a braid." You smile. "Not four." "Oh..." He said and laughed. You pecked his lips "Oh and the outfit...what's with our daughter, the walking rainbow?" You giggle. "Oh! That...we were running a little late this morning so I said she could put on whatever she wanted." He says. "Let's just say it's...creative?" You laugh and shake your head. "You're an idiot." You smile before kissing him again.
