Hearing the sound of dishes slamming against the sink, I suddenly open my eyes to an empty bed. Mark's side had been cold, the sheets were thrown over my legs, as his pillow was about to fall from the bed.
"Damn it!"
Struggling to get out of bed, I walk out of my room with a t-shirt and some shorts and into the kitchen downstairs.
Watching as Mark was preparing breakfast, I stood near the granite counter trying not to laugh at his cooking skills.
"How do you-?"
"Crack and egg?" I ask.
Looking up at me, I walk over to the sink.
"You could've just woken me up.," I said.
"I wanted to make breakfast for you and Sloan.." He said.
"Sloan?" I asked, pausing in the middle of cooking the bacon.
"My daughter..." He whispered.
Turning my head, I see a young, blonde haired girl, sitting in our living room. While a blanket laid on her lap, it didn't really hide the fact that she was pregnant."
"She's young.." I said, still looking at her.
Grabbing my arms, Mark pulls me away from the oven as he puts the bacon strip on a plate.
"How old is she? I'm wondering because.."
"Sloan," Mark yelled.
"Yeah?" Keeping her eyes on the T.V, she leans her head on her hand.
"How old are you?"
"18."
In awe, I turned to look at Mark, who completely ignores me.
Walking around the kitchen for the salt, he makes his way around me, before I smack his arm.
"Ow? What was that for?"
"She's 18."
"Yeah, so?"
"I'm 24? I-I could be her sister?" I said, concerned.
Stopping what he was doing, he holds my arms.
"But you're not. You're my beautiful girlfriend..okay. My Amazing, Beautiful, Child prodigy girlfriend." He whispers, kissing my lips, before continuing to make breakfast.
"I like my bacon crispy.." I said, before heading over to the living room with Sloan.

"Dr. Shepherd." Jackson said as he walked over to me with one of my patient's files.
"I checked Hayley's post-ops..She's doing really well. The swelling in her brain went down, and she told me that she doesn't hear any voices."
"Well, that is great. I'll make sure to stop by her room later. Today we have Cardio.." Handing him a file, he reads over the patient's history, while I watch him read.
Scanning the papers with his blue eyes, his smile widens as he realizes what kind of procedure it is.
"Thoracotomy?" He said.
"Yep. The patient has seen over 4 doctors in the past month, and none of them can figure out how to fix her heart. But we, can." I say.
Nodding my head behind me, we go into the elevator and up to the 7th floor.
"Mr. Peters, This is Dr.Avery, our new surgical Resident."
"Nice to meet you." Mr. Peters says.
