Files in hand, I wake my way to the conference room where April and Jackson were waiting.

Knocking on the door I seemed to have scared April.

"Hi, Sorry..."I whispered.

Closing the door behind me, I nervously found my seat on the other side of the table.

"So, I just need a few signatures before we begin," I say taking a seat.

"Um, so what exactly happens after this? How do we get started?" April asks.

Pulling out two pens a lay then in front of them before sliding the paper over.

"Well, uh, after we're done here, I will take you to your room. I'll give you the medication that starts dilation, then the pitocin. And your body will know what to do from there." Looking down at the pages I had in front of me, I slide them over.

"So, this is for the birth certificate. Have you decided on a name..." I asked.

"Uh, we are still working on that.." Jackson added.

"We're...yeah. Still working.."

"Okay...well, you can just sign now, and we'll fill in the rest later," I said sincerely.

"These are the consent forms..."

"I think we signed those," Jackson said.

"Uh, not these...Um, what we're doing today is an induction termination. You're 24 weeks, so technically, we could intervene to keep the baby alive, after the delivery." I whisper seeing as April began to get uncomfortable with what I was saying.

"These are just forms to make it official that...you don't." Grabbing the paper, Jackson signs them right away before April could even talk.

"What are those other forms?" She asks as I hid them underneath the manila folder.

"These are, um...for the death certificate."

"Really?" Jackson urged.

"It's better this way, you won't waste any more time that you already have."

Watching as they stared down at the piece of paper, April started to gaze out of the window.

"I'll give you two a minute." Grabbing the folder I get up from my seat and wait out in the hallway.

"How's it going?" Derek asked as he was back to wearing his old lab coat.

"What do you think? She's not signing that paper..." I whisper as I lean on the door.

"What makes you think that?"

"It's their first child? I wouldn't want to sign it. Plus, I told her if she wanted to let her baby live, I would take it away...no mother wants to hear that?"

Rubbing my left shoulder with his hand, I stare down at the floor.

"You know, ever since this happened I've let Theo sleep with me in the bed."

"Why?"

"I don't know, I guess I'm just scared? And thankful at the same time, that he's alive and healthy."

Hearing paper slide across the table from inside, I glance up at Derek.

"What?"

"They made their decision..."

Opening the door, I hold it open for them.

"Okay, we're done with this," I say as they turn their heads to me.
