2 WEEKS LATER.
"The human brain," Richard whispered as he grabbed the light pink organ from a silver tray beside him.
"This is the reason I asked Chief Shepherd if I could fill in for her this morning." He added.
Standing behind him with my arms crossed, I watch as he places the brain on a cutting board.
"Nature makes a beautiful machine, don't you think?" I whispered.
Nodding their heads with excitement, as one intern felt uncomfortable with staring at it.
"Ready to take it apart?" Richard said as he held a sawing knife in his left hand.
Slicing right in the middle of the brain, he carefully starts slicing the halves like ham.
"See how easily the blade slices through? Comes apart like warm butter," He questioned as he laid the pieces in order from which he cut them.
"This big ball of jelly is the essential element that makes you...you. Here's a fun fact. If left to decompose, the brain actually liquefies."
And just like that, the one intern that held his hand to his mouth, gagged and ran out.
"Was it something I said?" Richard jokes as the entire room join in.

"Thank you, for letting my teach today...chief."
Cleaning up the few pieces of brain on the table, Richard and I make our way to the door before turning off the lights.
"You're a good teacher. Maybe we can split the days, gives you time to get to the interns," I say.
"I would like that very much."
Reaching into my pocket I pull out my pager.
"I have to go, I have a brief meeting with someone."
"Go ahead. You have a lot of work ahead of you."
"Thanks."
Jackson's POV
Walking over to my bedroom door, I knock before entering.
"You don't have to knock?" April said before I opened the door.
"Morning."
Rubbing my eyes open, I made my way to the closet to get ready for work.
"How'd you sleep?"
"I'm not doing this another night. Not sleeping on that damn couch again." I whispered.
"Great. You shouldn't. You've got a perfectly fine bed right here."
"I have been really nice, April. All right, but it's time now, okay? I told you a week ago to look for a place to live. Yo haven't."
"Because we have a place to live."
"So, today, I'm gonna book you a room at the Archfield. Tonight, I will come home, I will help you finish packing, and , tomorrow, I'm gonna wake up alone in my bed." I blurted out as I grabbed some socks and went to the restroom to change.
"For better or for worse, Jackson. For better or for worse!"
Elena's POV
Walking out of the O.R room, I made my way to the nurse's station to clear out some files, when Meredith come out of nowhere.
"Hey."
"Hey," I said as I took one of the files from a nurses hand.
"You were a department head. Will you take a look at this contract for me and tell me if anything looks weird to you?" She asked.
