2 WEEKS LATER

Coming out of my car, Jackson and I ran to Meredith's front door to find it open.

"Hey, is everything alright?" I asked Maggie who was coming down the stairs

"It's Amelia..."

"What happened?"

Grabbing my hand she helps me up the stairs and down the hall to the bathroom in front of Meredith's room.

"Mom! Mother! I know I was engaged before. I was there. No."

Standing behind Maggie, the both of us hear her yelling.

"How long has she been like this?" I whispered.

"Since this morning, she sent an invite to your mom but never heard back."

"I am sober. Because we love each other. Because we didn't see a reason to wait. Because people get hit by cars."

"Oh god," I whispered.

"What's going on?" Jackson said as he came up behind me.

"It's family drama..."

"Is your mother not coming?"

"I don't think so..."

"Yes, we broke up and then we...So what if it has been off and on?"

"Oh, hey, don't let me forget the rings." Owen blurted out.

"Shh."

"I don't know, mom..." Amelia kept yelling.

"What's wrong? Is something wrong?"

"Our mom. No one in the family is coming to the wedding." I added.

"...ex-daughter-in-law, and ask her permission to live my life. Because I do!"

She yelled as all of us stood int he hallway.

"I'm alone. If you don't come, it is just Elena and me. Mom. Mom, please, I am getting married. Fine, yeah, no."

Looking down at my watch, I grabbed the rings from Owen's hands.

"I'll take care of this."

"Um...okay. I understand. Yeah, it's so good to know that all of the best people in this family have either been shot, died, or ran away from you."

"Whoa..." Jackson whispered.

"You ran away?" Owen added.

"Yeah, after high school."

"Amelia, hey," Maggie said as she came closer to the door, but Amelia just shut it in her face.

"At least rain is supposed to be good luck," April added as she stood behind the rest of us.

After a while, everything had calmed down except for Amelia or the rain. Everyone was downstairs, going back up to the bathroom to make sure that Amelia was breathing and alive.

"I don't feel good about how quiet it is in there," Maggie said.

"She's fine," Meredith said as she ate her grapes.

"You have no idea how many people have locked themselves in that bathroom. They're always fine."

"When Denny, I was lying on the ground until Mer told me to get up."

"Actually, I had to bribe you with tequila, but sure." We both laughed.

Everything had gotten back to normal between us, since our last fight. We had resolved our issues with each other while drinking a gallon of tea and tequila in bed.
