Staring at Wilson as we stood in the middle of a dark hallway, her eyes wouldn't stop flickering, trying to dry up the tears forming in her eyes.
"Wilson..." I whispered.
"How...how did you-"
"Do we really want to get into that conversation?" I asked her as she nodded her head slowly
Glancing her eyes up from the ground, I looked over her shoulder and noticed Dr. Webber talking to Stadler in front of the Nurses station.
"It was my first year as an attending, I met him during a public speaking event. You were there...but you had lighter hair. You were his student." I whispered, still keeping my eyes on Stadler.
"You...you knew?" She whispered.
"No, obviously I didn't know your name I just thought it was a coincidence you looked a lot like her."
Hearing Webber's voice come closer to the double doors we hid behind, I grabbed Wilson's arm and dragged her to the other side of the hallway near the emergency staircase.
"What does he want with you?"
"I...I contacted-"
"Shepherd. Wilson." Bailey hissed as she walked through the doors with a security guard.
"Bailey, what's wrong?" I asked, trying to hide our awkward situation.
"We need more hands down at the E.R." She ordered Wilson.
"No, Wilson needs to go and check on her patient. I'll go to the E.R." I added quickly.
"Alright then, get going, Wilson."
Glancing at each other, Wilson leaves nervously, past the double doors to the other side of the Nurses station, avoiding Stadler.
"Shepherd, have you heard from Jackson?" She asked.
"Um, no. Why?"
"I've been calling him but he doesn't answer. April said he's on a Medevac chopper?."
"No, I haven't spoken to him since this morning," I mumbled.
"Okay, well...maybe he's still up in the air."
Walking away with the security guard behind her, I stood in the hallway for a little while until Bailey left before turning around and heading out the same way I came in.
Jackson's POV
Finally reaching the hospital, Maggie and I rolled Claude through the hallways of the O.R. as nurses and doctors reacted to the blood stains on our faces and clothes.
"I need 4 pints of blood stat," Maggie ordered as we went down the emergency elevator to the O.R. floor.
Scrubbing in, I walked in first, sliding my hand through the gloves and blue gown.
"I just want to stick my head under a faucet right now," Maggie mumbled through her mask.
"I'd just settle for a fresh pair of scrubs."
"You don't have hair." She blurted out.
"True."
Turning around, I tightened the cotton strap around tying it at my waist.
"Oh, Claude, I think some of your blood just soaked through to my underwear. So we are in this together now." Maggie joked as I stood on the other side of the table.
"Yeah, well, I got some in my mouth."
"We're not gonna think about that," She added.
"Just don't tell my wife."
