Elena's POV
Sitting upright on my bed and able to know listen to everyone talk, they decided to have a meeting in my room.
"It is important that you continue the voice rest, okay? Your tracheal injury is not...fully healed and your latest audiometry shows that the hearing in your right ear has almost completely returned." Jackson said.
Bailey, Callie, Maggie, Richard, Alex, and Owen all stood at the edge of my bed. Looking down at me, putting her hands over my legs or my shoulders as they catch me up to speed.
Pointing to my left ear, Jackson says more.
"On your left, you're looking at about 55%, which is good. It's only been about a few weeks, you know, so I'm not concerned about it." Staring at him, I roll my eyes to the other side and see my mother standing outside of the door.
"It's gonna come back, Elena, okay?" Jackson added and I nod.
Patting Richard's arms, I point over to the door where my mother stood.
"Oh, she flew in 2 weeks ago. I called her about Amelia, but she just wanted to see you." He whispered.
"I want you to continue to-"
Snapping my head over to Callie who was screaming into my right ear, Bailey and Jackson stop for from yelling at me.
"Sorry...I want you to continue to move your fingers while in the cast, and you will remain non-weight-bearing on your leg until we take the cast off."
"Yeah, there's a little swelling in the left leg. It's probably local edema, but I've ordered a doppler just to be safe. Anything else?" Bailey asked everyone in the room.
"No."
Tapping on Bailey's shoulders, I write on the whiteboard that Richard gave me.
"Who's Lou?" Jackson questioned.
"What's...who's Lou?" He asked again before I shushed him.
"The patient who attacked Elena. I've been calling him something else." Callie whispered to Jackson.
"Look, we don't have to go into that right now," Maggie whispered before I furrow my eyebrows at her.
"She wants to know, just tell her." Alex blurted out.
"Okay."
"Lou suffered a severe epidural hematoma in the accident. It's what cause the seizure. We think he was in a postictal state when he attacked, but we can't make sure because-"
"You're the only doctor who knows how to run the test." Callie interrupted.
"After a few minutes, we woke up and had no idea what he had done. He had surgery and was discharged. He's doing fine." Bailey said as she cleared her throat.
Glancing over to my mother who stood outside talking to Richard, Bailey said something else.
"Lou has reached out. He has made a couple of requests to see you."
"Mnh-mnh," I said shaking my head.
"I think...he would just like to apologize."
Lifting up my hand, Bailey stops talking.
"It's okay. She's kicking us out." Alex said.
"Mm-mm."
"Let's go."
"Apologize? Are you serious?"
"I'm serious."
"Yeah, I don't see why, because the last time that woman got hurt working for this hospital-"
