3 MONTHS LATER

"Alright, now make sure Dr. Bliss knows about his patient whereabouts. God knows how he is when things don't go his way." I say to Wendy as she walks out of my office with files.

I returned back to Switzerland shortly after the awards and my brief meet up with my father. Ethan flew back to Seattle for the last two months, including Jackson and April. I yet have heard anything of Jackson since my first night in Boston, but since that night at the awards things between us was very eerie, like we both knew something was wrong. 

Typing my hands away on the computer, I glance over from the corner of my eye to see Ethan standing in my office.

"What are you doing here? I thought you were going to be home?" I asked as I took my hands off of the keyboard.

"I was until I noticed that my lovely girlfriend wasn't ready in her own home to leave for the airport."

"I'm sorry, I really needed to be here. I'm almost done with some paperwork that needs to be finished for the next month, and then we can head to the airport.."

Getting up from my chair, I glide over to the cabinets behind me.

"You've said that for two months now? No more work, no more conversations about work...you're going to a much-needed vacation with me and Theo." He whispers as he grabs both of my hands and brings them closer to his chest.

Taking a quiet breath, I flicker my eyes as I glance down at his chest.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"Nothing...it's just that, in a few more months I won't be working here anymore.."

"What? I thought you were here permanently?"

"My contract lasts for a year, then after that, I can choose to stay..or leave."

"You're thinking about leaving?"

"I want too...but this place is incredible. The work these people put into the printable hearts we're making...I don't want to miss it." I whispered.

"And you're not. Because you'll still be here when you do."

"You want me to stay?"

"I want you to finish what you started...after our mini vacation." He smirks.

"I think I have less time than that...we're actually almost done. The last heart is scheduled to be printed off in 4 days...after that, we have about 4 weeks before it's finished."

"Then...let's go. You can enjoy England without any pressure about a plastic heart because it will be perfect when you come back."

Seeing a dark shadow stand in the corner of the room, I turn my head to see Burke standing in my office.

"He's right you know, you need this."

"When did you get here? I thought you were in Milan."

"I was, when I realized that you were going to be gone for some time, I came back. And I'll be here when you do."

Looking back at the both of them, Wendy comes interrupting our conversation.

"Oh, excuse me. Dr. Shepherd, your driver is here to take you to the airport."

"Tell him I'll be right there." Waiting until she leaves the room, Ethan lets go of my hands as I gather the rest of my things."

"Okay, let's go."

Jackson's POV

"And here is the baby..." Arizona says as she shows April our baby through the sonogram.
