Our New Beginning

"He's so cute! I could just eat him up?"

"Shh, you're going to wake her up."

The smell of cologne brushed right above my head, slowly following the smell.

"Hey guys, I think she's waking up?" Christina said as she stood really closely to my face.

"...yang?"

"Yes?"

"Get away from my face?"

"Oh, of course.." 

Opening my eyes, I could make out the shadow figures in the room.

"How do you feel?" Derek asked.

"Like I was hit in the crotch...multiple times.."

"...yeah, that's called birth."

Looking over at the empty incubator, Theo wasn't inside.

"Where's-"

"Don't worry, he's right here.." Bailey said as she held him in his arms.

"He's precious, Elena."

"Didn't even cry the whole night, he probably has your sleeping habits.."

"What sleeping habits?"

"The 48-hour kind?" Derek joked.

"Ow? Don't make me laugh, the stitches are starting to break." I say as Meredith walks in with Zola.

"Hey, Zo! How is my beautiful niece?"

Carefully climbing the bed, she sits quietly beside me.

"Is that your baby?" She asked, pointing to Theo.

"Yeah, that's my baby. Just like you're Mommy and Daddy's baby.." I whisper to her, poking her stomach.

Jiggling quietly into my shoulder, she whispers something into my ear.

"Yeah, I think I could do that?"

"Okay good. Because I want to everyone to know how cute he is."

Watching as Meredith takes her back outside with Beth, the On-Call Hospital babysitter.

"What did she say?"

"She wants to bring Theo is for her show and tell next week, I said yes."

"Oh, Zola," Arizona whispered as she snapped pictures of Theo.

"Okay, Bailey. I think it's time to leave Elena alone for a while..we still need to discuss the lawsuit." Owen said.

"I thought we already did?"

"You were serious about that? Putting the Hospital in bankruptcy?" Owen said.

"You didn't tell him?" I whisper to Derek.

"I haven't had the time.."

"Tell me what?"

"We're thinking about buying the Hospital..." I say.

"All of you? With your money?"

"Yeah, all we need now is someone to support us.."

"Like what?" He asked.

"A business, someone who could give us a foundation to start on.."

"...Well, we don't need to discuss it now. What you do need is to rest up.." He says, before leaving the room.

"So, Theo?" Meredith asked.

"Theodore Everett Sloan-Shepherd.."

"Everett?" Derek whispered, turning his head to me.
