Feeling a shivering breeze in between my legs, I look up to the ceiling until the breeze vanishes.
"Okay, you are done." Dr. Hansel says, as she rolls over to the monitor.
"How long is it going to take?" I ask her, setting my legs down on the plastic.
"Give it a few days? Maybe by the end of the week you'll begin to notice it."
Straightening out the gown, I hesitantly glance up at her.
"Dr. Hansel?" I ask her again.
"Yeah?"
"Is it alright, if we keep this to ourselves?"
Concerned, she rolls herself away from the monitor.
"Of course..are you sure you want to go through with the removal?"
"Absolutely, I don't want it sitting around..at least this way I know it won't stay here."
"Well, good luck. I'll see you again in a few days."
Leaving the room, I grab my clothes from the table beside me.
"Hey, Dr. Hansel..have you seen Dr. Shepherd?" Jackson asked from the other side.
Holding my breath, I slowly pull my shirt over my head, before putting on my pants.
"Yeah, I just saw her getting coffee."
"Thanks.."
Closing my eyes for a brief second, I continue putting on my shoes, before walking out of the room.
"Thank you for that." I say to Dr. Hansel as I passed her through the elevator.
"Wait, here." Handing me a cup of coffee from the cardboard tray.
"Oh, right. Thanks."
3 WEEKS LATER
Heading down to the Attending's lounge, I change outside of my locker, just as Jackson comes in the room.
"Oh, sorry." He says, covering his eyes, but then turns around.
"It's just a shirt, Jackson."
"..Right."
Still covering his eyes, he heads over to the restroom.
"Um, I was looking for you earlier today."
"...yeah, um, I went to get some coffee."
"Patrick's check up was supposed to be today."
"Yeah, I was just going up there right now."
"And also, your sister is here..." He whispered as he came out of the restroom tying his scrub pants on.
"Amelia?"
"No, Lizzie? She has black hair, and brown eyes? She looks nothing like you or your brother.."
"Okay, Thanks."
Walking out of the room, I hurry up to Patrick's room.
"Dr. Shepherd." His wife said, as she sat next to her oldest son.
"Mrs. Hardison, how are you guys?"
"Good, the nurses came in earlier today and gave Patrick some pain killers for his daily unwrapping."
"That's good." Walking over to the tray station near the left side of the room, I put on gloves, before carefully removing the bandages.
"Looks like the scars are healing very well." Looking down below his chin and the side of his face.
