Amelia's POV
Sitting in the hospital bed, I was surrounded by almost all of the head attending's including Bailey, who came in just in time for Tom to give us information about his approach on my tumor.
"I'll go in with a subfrontal craniotomy, really clean, a small incision in the dura and scoop the tumor out, I don't like the adema around the tumor but I gotta dance with the girl who brought me so..." Tom said.
Feeling eyes on me, I kept them down on the bed as Tom glanced over.
"I imagine you guys have some questions."
"Uh, How many of these have you done?" Bailey asked.
"Is this a Bailey question or Elena?" I blurted out.
"...Both. How many?" She asked again.
"So, so many..."
"And what's the recovery time?" Webber asked.
"I took a 13-centimeter tumor out of a cop roughly in the same place. He was walking day 1, talking day 3, back at work...in a week."
"Thank you, Tom," I said.
"Yeah. See you at the after party." He blurted out leaving the room.
"He seems arrogant enough," Maggie said.
"He's a show-boat and he works best under pressure, so, DeLuca ask him questions during surgery, make him show off. And if I make it through-"
"When you make it through." Owen blurted out.
"Early ambulation protocal." DeLuca added.
"Thank you. Okay, Meredith, If I die-"
"You're not going to die."
"But if I do, you call my mom, I'm sorry but she likes you," I said to her.
"And you, take my room. It is way better, I kind of scammed you on that." I told Maggie.
"Stop that."
"No, she's right. It's way better." Karev whispered to Maggie.
"And Owen, if I'm gorked, do not over think it. Do not visit me, just park me somewhere and go on with your life."
"Amelia, please, cut it out," Owen asked me.
"And if I need unplugging, April has been named my power of attorney." I blurted out, following into awkward silence after.
"What was I supposed to say, no?" April said to everyone in the room.
"She likes me, she will be there for you. But we're not so close that she'll emotion dictate her decision."
Looking around the room at everyone's concerned faces, there was pure bliss inside me that came out of nowhere.
"I don't know what's me and what's the tumor talking but, um, in this moment I love you, people, tremendously," I whispered.
Elena's POV
Throwing my shoe covers into the trash can, I passed through the automatic doors in the scrub room, just as Meredith walked in.
"Hey," I whispered.
"Amelia's Post-op plans were said today." She added.
"And I care why?"
"She's your sister, Elena. She wants you there, as much as doesn't want to admit it."
"She didn't tell me about the tumor, she didn't tell me about flying in another doctor...why should involve myself when I'm not wanted." I hissed, turning on the water.
