There's A Chance

Elena's POV

"Hey I made coffee, you want some?" Derek asked as I came down the stairs.

"Yeah. Where's everybody at?"

Sitting down on the high chair, I wrap my hands around the white coffee cup.

"No, they're still sleeping.."

Sitting down next to me on the counter, I grab one of the files from my purse and set it between Derek and me.

"I got here first Alex!"

"And it begins.." Derek whispers.

Looking at him from the side, I turn around to see what he was talking about.

"He always gets the bathroom!" April yells as she comes downstairs, and grabs a box of cereal.

Still drinking our coffee's, Meredith and Lexie come down stairs.

"Good Morning." They said, kissing Derek on the cheek, Meredith grabs two more cups for her and Lexie.

"So what about this approach?" Derek whispered as he was still interested in the file.

"No, it would cause a bleed in his right frontal lobe.."

Hearing the toilet flush, April runs up the stairs, just in time to get the shower before the rest of us.

"Good Morning," Jackson said, coming into the Kitchen.

"What if you..."

"Nope, still another bleed," I said.

"Do you bond like this all the time?" Lexie asked as she leaned on the counter in front of us.

"Yeah, they..bond unusually," Meredith adds.

"Then what else do they talk about?"

"Residents, Interns, Attendings..." Derek and I say at the same time.

"Woah.."

Freaking them out a little, Derek smirks them before I walk over to the sink.

"They're like..twins? With mind reading powers?"

Laughing softly, Jackson stands next to me facing to the center of the counters.

"What time do the both of you go to work?" Jackson asked.

"1:30..sadly."

"She overslept for a craniotomy this morning, one that she could have taken from Dr. Nelson and Mark if she wasn't so busy ignoring him.."

"No, Mark is ignoring me. He's setting me aside, like a sad little puppy. I also took one of his patients from him a few days ago without his permission...still hasn't noticed." I say, turning around and standing next to Jackson.

Coming down with fresh clothes, Alex hurries into the kitchen and to the fridge.

"Woah, energizer bunny? You're excited for the morning?" I asked.

"Arizona has a new baby, and he needs surgery. I want him." He says, stuffing down the buttered toast.

"Well, good luck with that.." I said.

Grabbing some clothes from Lexie's closet, she walks into her room.

"Hey, so what's going on with you and Mark?" Sitting on her couch, she grabs her pillow.

"Nothing..he's just investing his time towards his daughter, that's all."

"..A daughter he barely knows? Shouldn't he be investing his time on you? Planning to propose, maybe? Have you talked to him about it."
