2 MONTHS LATER
Finishing my Anatomy class in the morning, I head up to radiology on the 5th floor. Blake had set Matthew, my new neuro patient inside the C.T. machine.
"How is he looking?" I asked as I sat down beside her.
"He has a huge hematoma on his third ventricle."
"So what do we do?"
"Um...he can resect from a 45-degree angle, or we can give him radiation and steroids to shrink its size."
"Good. Pull up his scans from 3 months ago." Glancing back inside of the C.T. room, where Matthew was laying down, a nurse comes into the room.
"Lilith, can you take Matthew back into his room?" I asked.
"Yes, Ma'am."
Scrolling down the sections, Blake pulls up Matthews C.T. scans from New York.
"It looks like they tried radiation. Pull up that one?" I asked.
"This one looks even worse."
"It says here they think it's inoperable."
"Nothing's inoperable until you make it inoperable. And in order to do that, you would have to kill all of his chances. He has one." I whispered as I kept my eyes on the screen.
"Dr. Shepherd."
"Yes?" I whispered as I tore my eyes from the screen.
"Tatiana? What are you doing here?" I asked her, getting up from my seat and hugging her.
"Well, I was released 10 weeks ago. I asked Jackson where you were, and he said that you were attacked?"
"Yes, I was. I'm sorry you couldn't say goodbye?"
"I'm just glad you're okay."
"Thank you. I'm glad after 4 years, Jackosn managed to keep that promised with you."
"You were my doctor, too? You get some credit."
"I supposed...but you look amazing."
"Thank you. Here." Reaching into her purse she takes out an envelope.
"It's an invitation to my wedding. I want you and Jackson to come, together." She smiled.
"Thank you, and we will. I don't Jackson would want to miss your big day."
"About that, I asked him to walk me down the aisle? Is that okay?" She asked.
"Are you kidding me? That's perfectly fine, you guys have gotten close, your guys are practically brother and sister since you two fight all the time."
"It's mostly him who picks fights, but yes."
Looking down at the envelope, I glance back up at her.
"We will be there, I promise."
"Okay, I'll see you later."
"Bye, Tatiana."
Returning back to my seat, I open the invitation and smile.
"She looks beautiful. Look." I show Blake.
"Did she look like that before the surgeries?"
"No, a guy threw acid on her face at a coffee shop."
"Dear god?"
"Yeah, she's been a fighter through all of this," I said as a threw my hands up.
"How many surgeries?"
