Feeling a slimy, rigged texture on the side of my face, I press my hand up to my forehead, before wiping my eyes open.

"Tobes?" I whisper as he sat next to me.

The smell of death flowed out of his mouth as his tongue, liked my face again.

"Okay? I'll get up?"

Throwing the comforter over my legs, I slide off the bed and walk over to the bathroom and wash my face.

Hearing the running water echo down the drain, I run my hands down my face as I look at myself in the mirror.

But the sight of Toby sitting behind me, made me question his normal routine.

It was Friday, so he would normally be the first out of bed, and already fed himself. Gotten the newspaper, and sat on the couch until I walked him around 9 am.

"What's that smell?" I whisper to myself, just before drying my face.

Heading down the stairs, I see the kitchen lights were already on, and the sound of cooking oil sizzling on the pan.

"What are you doing?" I smile, as Jackson was standing in the middle of my kitchen.

"I wanted to cook breakfast?" He said as he grabbed two plates.

"Huh.." Tiptoeing to sit on my stool, I reach over to grab a piece of bacon.

"Hey." He joked, lightly hitting my hand.

Finishing up his cooking, as sets a plate filled with eggs, bacon, hash browns, and two pieces of toast.

"Go ahead. Tell how it is?"

Slowly taking a bite of the eggs, the warm, and well-cooked eggs had melted into my mouth as the salt he had added evaporated on my tongue.

"That's really good?" I said, as my mouth was full.

"Thanks, 8 years in Medical school and all I learned out of there is how to form a central line, and good breakfast."

Sipping my orange juice, he walks over to Toby's food container to find him.

"Well, If I wasn't a Doctor. I'd hire you to make my eggs. Thank you." Swiftly walking over to me, he presses his lips against mine.

"You're very welcome."

Enjoying our meal together, we talked about his mother's request to have a meeting with the Hospital staff at the end on the month. Just before, we talked about the places I hadn't visited in Seattle since I first came here, which was 6 years ago.

"What are you doing?" I said, as he took our phones and put them on the counter.

"We. Have the day off."

"No, we don't? I still have to check up on Bobbie?"

"Bailey and the rest of the 8 Doctors he had 4 days ago, can take care of him. Today we are going on a date."

Watching as he glided around the kitchen, he puts the plates in the dishwasher, before standing next to me.

"So is this a Brunch date?" I asked as I was confused in what he wanted to do.

"Sort of? It's more of an all day thing. We'll go to the most popular places in Seattle, and wonder. Walk around until we find something else that catches our eyes."

"And what if they call us in?"

"They won't. Because I will have our phones, so that way you don't have the urge to go to work today."
