We all eat in silence, I guess there's nothing to say anymore. Normally it would be Shane explaining every piece that went in to cooking this, but tonight he's silent. Mark would normally compliment something about the room and then Shane would explain random facts about it, but not tonight. After the meal we all tell each other goodnight, before heading to our separate bedrooms upstairs. I insist that I don't need help upstairs, and Shan eactually let's me go up on my own. He probably doesn't want to push anymore buttons with me. Mark had picked a room next to mine and he passes me on his way to bed.
"Mark." I say before he goes inside his room, his hand just rests on the doorknob.
"Yes?" He responds in a kind, slightly concerned tone.
"I forgive you now." I answer, looking into his chocolate brown eyes while I speak. He smiles brightly and even has blush on his cheeks. Mark releases the doorknob and slowly takes steps towards me until his arms are wrapped around me in an embrace. I actually wrap my arms around his too, just to prove my previous point.
"I'm glad." He whispers and kisses my forehead lovingly. Shane had already gone in his room, he's always in a rush to get to bed, or just to be alone in his room. Either would probably be true honestly.
"Well... Goodnight, I'll see you in the morning." Mark says, slowly letting go of me and taking backward steps back to his room. I nod and return my hands to hang by my sides.
"I'll see you in the morning." I answer and smile lightly before I go into my room. I close the door gently and turn to face the room. I'm ready to see the crib, but it's gone. I guess while we were having dinner Shane called someone to get it. Well, he certainly does what he says he will, but he's always done that. I'm just glad that he is still acting that way after what I've said and done to him with all this. Although, I am his wife, and Shane would probably be the last person to forget that. I slowly walk over to my bed, I guess they made my bed as well. Interesting. I lift the covers and lay my head down on the pillow. The last time I was here, I was still pregnant and I had gone to sleep peacefully. Tonight was probably the exact opposite of that one. I toss and turn in my bed, just trying to get any sleep at all. Adjusting back to my old life has proven to be harder than I thought. I would think it would be though, going from sleepless nights where the only thing I did was stare out the window with tears freezing to my face. Now I have a comfortable bed, but that doesn't make it easier to sleep. My mind still is getting adjusted I suppose. Trying not to think about all the time when I was drowning, all of the pain and suffering I felt, all the reasons why I cried, all of it still is stuck to me. Everything just seems to bring it back, making me slowly break again. But I won't break this time, I won't let myself fall back into that hole again. I'm just going to have to be strong, become the person that I used to be. Strong, independent, not caring about anyone but a select few. That's who I used to be, but I've grown soft and with that I've gotten weaker. I hate just the idea of being weak, so now I'm just going to have to become strong again. I know I'm not going to sleep anyways tonight, so I get out of my bed and get out of my room. I quickly go down the stairs and unlock the front door, letting myself out. I close the door, wouldn't want Shane getting annoyed of it being open. I chuckle to myself at the thought, Shane just running down the steps to see the front door wide open. I then proceed to walk down the steps in the front until I get to the sidewalk. I make my way towards my destination and when I finally arrive, I just walk in the door. I'm not scared after all. A man leans against the wall, it looks like I've woken him. He wears full, metal armor and has a sword in a sheath on his side.
"Mrs. Lancaster? I didn't expect to see you so late." He comments, looking at me with confusion and shock.
"I'm here to see Team 4, we're leaving tonight on a mission that I'm sure you know about. It's a search, to look for someone named Sean McLaughlin." I explain, looking at the man in the eyes strongly.
"Oh, of course. Let me take you to the team, they're sleeping right now, so pardon them if they need a few minutes to get ready." The man chuckles.
"I'll need to get ready too. I can't really go on a search mission wearing a wedding gown." I reply with a chuckle.
"Of course Miss. Well, here they are. Wake up guys! You have a mission!" The man shouts as he opens the door into a dark room. The members of Team 4 sleep on the floor, but shake themselves awake when the man shouts. Slowly, their eyes open and yawn as they wake up.
"So late? Why do we have a mission in the middle of the night?" The skinny one known as Fin questions with a heavy yawn.
"Because I said so." I say, taking a step so that I'm in their vision from inside the room.
"Oh, hey friend! Nice seeing you again, are we looking for your friends again?" Duncan says sarcastically, slowly getting up from the floor, rubbing his eyes lightly.
"Yes, actually. One of my friends, Jack has run off, looking for a man who shot me. My plan is to find them both, because I'm the one who's going to deal with the man who shot me. Anyone who dares shooting me, should have to pay the consequences after all." I say, with a devious grin spreading on my face. Wendy's eyes stare at me intently while I speak and she nods.
"I couldn't agree more. And if you need any help, we'll be there to kick his ass with you." Wendy chuckles, running her hand over her bald head, but she still looks amazing. I nod and chuckle slightly at her words. I've missed these guys, and I couldn't be more glad to go on a mission with them.
