I gasp as I look at Shane in shock. I had never heard of his friend, Liam, and to be completely honest, it shocks me that Shane has people that he considers friends.
"Oh, that's awful. Can I do anything, or help you in any way with this?" I question him in a soft voice. Shane shrugs slowly and take sin a few more deep breathes into his lungs.
"Can you go tell Allan to broadcast it to the other districts? If you don't want to, I can go, but it would help." Shane explains in a slightly hushed tone. I nod in response and give his hand a light squeeze.
"Yeah, so I just tell him his name and the district?" I ask fro clarification. Shane nods again.
"Yes. Tell him that Liam Cooper, owner of District 16 has passed away from an unknown source today. Then tell him to broadcast it to the other districts. If he asks why, just tell him that my com isn't working." Shane explains while his voice shakes and his breathes are even shakier.
"No problem. I'll be back soon, okay? If you need something, go talk to any of the guys., I'm sure they'd want to help you too." I tell him kindly. Shane nods and looks at the wall in a distracted manner. I kiss his hand as I slowly let go of it and get up from my bed. I make my way towards the door to our bedroom and exit, silently closing the door after me. I exit the home with ease and then head towards the giant mansion a few houses down.

I go up the steps to his home and slam my wrist on the door a few times to knock. To my surprise, Allan himself answers it and gives me a confused expression. He looks around outside and then turns his eyes back to me, still looking confused.
"Mrs. Lancaster, what is it you need?" He questions me in the most confused business tone I've ever heard.
"Shane wanted me to tell you something." I state while crossing my arms over my chest. Allan nods and gives me an emotionless expression.
"Go ahead." He states as if he was a robot of some kind, completely emotionless and monotone. I nod awkwardly and play with a stray strand of my hair between my fingers.
"Well... Liam Cooper, the owner of District 16 has passed away today from an unknown reason." I say, trying to remember the words Shane had used exactly.
"Really? Who is going to take his place?" Allan questions me.
"We don't know that yet. Shane wanted me to ask you to tell all the other compounds this news. Shane would do it, but his com hasn't been working right." I explain nervously while fiddling my fingers around ecah other.
"Alright. It will be done." Allan tells me with a sigh. "Is there anything else?" He asks me while raising a brow.
"No. I can go, then." I tell him, avoiding his eyes in a nervous manner.
"Oh, I wouldn't want you leaving so soon. But, if you must, go." Allan says with a wave of his hand and the door closing. I nod and quickly go down all the porch steps as I begin making my way towards the house once more. The streets are bare, but they look organized, which is strange for all the compounds I've seen. I simply move a few strands of hair out of my face and continue walking, making loud clicking noises while my combat boots hit the cement.
"Violet..." I hear my name whispered from behind me. I spin around quickly and see a small red laser laying in the grass. It looks as if someone had a laser pointer and was trying to show me something. I take a few steps towards it to investigate further and the laser moves along the grass. I continue following it, and glance behind me, but to my surprise a man in a black mask stands there. He places a cloth over my nose and mouth and tries to push me to the ground. I kick back and hold my breath while I attempt to grab the knife out of my combat boot. My fingertips feel for it, but I continue missing it. The man kicks my hand away and pushes the cloth harder on my face. I close my eyes as the urge to breathe is getting to me. I slap and grab at the man while trying to kick him off me. The urge to breathe finally takes over and I breath in the chemicals on the cloth. I release a loud squeal as an extreme dizziness begins taking over. I claw at the man and attempt to throw him off me, but my strength begins to wear off and the man is stronger. I feel my eyes begin watering and my legs shake as the chemicals begin taking affect on me. I attempt fighting back once more even as I slowly see the world begin to fade away from me. I continue to hit the man with my fist with all my strength, but it doesn't change anything in my situation. I battle with my eyelids to keep them open, to just stay awake and keep fighting, but I can feel myself get weaker as I take in another breath of the chemicals on the cloth. I shake my head as I feel n intense dizziness and pain in my head while I try to stay fighting and clawing at the man with any strength I have left.
"Shh... Shh..." He whispers while my eyes get droopy and my head begins spinning even harder as if a hammer was pounding inside my skull. I attempt to shake my body free of this stranger's grasp and release a loud squeal as I feel myself drifting away. I try so hard to keep my eyes on, but it doesn't seem to work anymore. I finally lose all fight left inside me, and slowly feel myself drift further and further away from reality. I battle to keep my eyes open, and then, once I feel as though I have no strength left in me, they close and everything around me fades far, far, far away from me.
