I lay my head on the cold, plastic table that Josh has me strapped to. I make sure that my hand drips blood at all times, pushing my fingernails hard into my skin when the blood stops. My nail given cuts seem to last longer the more I do it, which doesn't surprise me. I'm opening my wounds after all. I drift in and out of sleep, and it seems like my vision is slowly going back to normal. Of course in my state, I could just me imagining it. The blood stops dripping from my left hand, it feels like I just opened it. Oh, well, I have to open it again. I dig my fingernails into the already made dents in my skin and clench my teeth tightly. The pain is extreme, but bearable for me. I've been through worse, and getting out of here will be worth whatever pain I have to go through. I feel the blood begin to flow out of my left hand again and the blood slowly drip once more. I suddenly hear the loud metal clangs of the door to my room opening. It seems to go on for a while, and then it suddenly stops. The only sounds in the room is the blood dripping from my hands to the, what seems like, cement floor, and now the footsteps of whoever has entered.
"How are you feeling, Violet?" Josh's voice comes from behind and I only shiver at the sound of it. I feel the tips of my fingers go slightly numb, perhaps it has been that way for a while now since I've lost so much blood from my hands. But even as my fingertips are numb, I still feel it when Josh grabs my wrist and gasps slightly.
"Violet, what happened? You're bleeding." Josh tells me, but I already know.
"The straps..." I mumble under my breath. It seems I still can't talk correctly, but I'll be able to talk just fine by the time I gt home I'm sure.
"You have cuts on your hands, Violet, it isn't the straps." Josh tells me. I hear him call someone over, but it sounds slightly muffled. My hearing has gone in and out all day, and it seems to have stayed about the same this whole time. I feel another hand take mine and then a thumb lightly go over the cuts.
"I need to take a closer look to know." The doctor woman from before says sternly.
"Alright..." Josh trails off and I can feel his eyes staring at me.
"I need to take off the straps, Mr. McNeil." She tells him. I hear Josh sigh and I'm guessing me nodded since I then feel the straps on my arm slowly get loser until it releases my arm from its grasp. Then, the other arm is released as well.
"Sit up, please." The woman asks me kindly. I push myself up slowly and roll my shoulders back, it feels great. I clench my fists and then let them lose. This beating will be fun.
"Give me one of your hands." She demands, holding out one of her own for me. I look into her eyes, they're dark brown, and I place my left hand into hers. She looks down at it and I fiddle with my right hands' fingers nervously. I don't know if I'm strong enough to knock her out right now, but this may be my only opportunity. I nervously place my right hand on top of my knee and clench it into a fist. My hands may not be strong enough, but I feel like the rest of my body might be. I glance behind me and see Josh standing close to the table with his fingertips resting on it. Well, that will work greatly. In one swift motion, that I think about carefully before doing so, I bring my elbow right into the middle of Josh's forehead and then follow it by slamming my fist into his eye. I jump over the table and then proceed to pound my fist into his jaw multiple times and then stomping on his stomach to keep him down. I the dash towards the door, which to my luck is still open. Beyond it is a dark corridor, and I follow it as far down as it will go. I find three different doors at the end of it, I test all three to see if they are open. All but one at the edge seems to be unlocked. I back up slightly and kick a hole right through the locked door. It was made of wood, and cheep wood at that. I reach my hand through the hole and unlock the door on the other side and pull it open. Most people keep secrets, of in this case, exits behind locked doors. I push myself through the door and begin running down what little hallway there is and then shove myself through the last door at the end of the hall. This place is like a maze, a awfully big maze if I do say so. The room I entered has wires and electric power boxes, probably a type of breaker room. Without thinking I open the boxes and flip all the switches inside, then begin pulling wires from the wall and tearing them. Suddenly I hear a loud thud and everything around me goes black, with the lights shutting off. I feel my way to the door and let myself out. Feeling around the walls while I walk, I make my way into different rooms and feel for any other type of door, and don't find anything. While inside a room, I suddenly hear footsteps come towards me. A faded light comes along with it, most likely a flashlight. I shut myself in the room I am in as quietly as possible and back into the darkness. I trip on something behind me and fall into what feels like a staircase. I crawl up it and feel the roof towards the top, and find a small trapdoor hidden there. I push it open quickly as my fall on the stairs was quite loud, and could have alerted whoever is out there of my presence. All of a sudden I hear a loud thud like the one before and all the lights come back on. I scramble to go up the steps through the trapdoor and stumble to the floor that lies above it. The door to the room below me opens and I rush to the top room, hoping it will have somewhere for me to run to. However, it appears to be no more than a small attic that has nowhere for me to run. I dash towards the furthest wall and attempt to kick through the wooden walls. It cracks, and I kick it again, harder. It cracks more and I can see sunlight seeping through. I'm so close, come on, just a few more kicks. I slam my elbows, fists and feet wearing my combat boots into the wall more and more and finally, it breaks.
