All of Team 4 gets ready in separate rooms and gave me one too. It has weapons lining the walls, including knives, swords, guns, and even crossbows with arrows. Next to the weapons are dressers and cupboards full of armor and underarmor clothing including breastplates, helmets, and armored gloves. They also have plain, black pants in the bottom drawer and undergarments in the drawer above it. I gently take off my tattered wedding dress, folding it and placing it on top of one if the dressers. I put on a dark, almost black colored tunic that seems to be part leather and lart cotton and tighten all the straps so it's as tight as it can go. I then find a pair of the black pants and that are skintight and seem to be made of a very thick fabric. I can't place it, but I'd assume it's high quality if the military camps are using it. I find a black breastplate that has a small, dark blue colored 'L' on it in the corner. I decide that it would be perfect. A way to show that I no longer am Violet Clark, now I'm Violet Lancaster. I'm a new me, and this plate shows that perfectly. I strap it to myself, making sure that it's tight so it doesn't fall off in high stress scenarios. I then find some black fingerless gloves with a metal plate located on the back of my hand. I suppose that could be for a type of protection. I then kneel down to my shoes and make sure my combat boots are laced up. After the events of the wedding, Shane had Bella go get my boots, he knew that I wouldn't want to wear heals when I woke up, and he was right. I actually got these boots near the beginning of all this. We had raided a hunting store and I found them.
-Flashback-
"So what do I do? I've done a lot in my life, but raiding a hunting store in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, that's a first..." I say, looking at Jack in shock. He sighs and runs his fingers through his hair.
"Just... Look for weapons and survival gear and put it all in this bag." Jack says, handing me a large, military styled duffle bag.
"And if I see one of the... Zombies?" I question, fear running through me.
"Yell for me and I'll get it." Jack says, cupping my cheek with the palm of his hand lovingly. I nod and then dash towards the end if the store. My eyes wide with fear, I've never killed somebody, and I never thought it would. But if it is a life or death situation, I'll have to do it. I get into one of the isles and see a case full of bullets and guns hanging next to it. I also see bows and arrows wrapped in plastic hanging on the rack. Then I see a crossbow with small amounts of green hanging on the shelf. It seems to be the only one in the isle, so I pick it up and shove it in the bag. I then grab a fee packs of arrows and put them inside too. I don't know what bullets to get, if any. They all seem so different and I don't want to be a fuck up. We have limited space, so I don't grab any bullets or guns. I move on to the next isle. It has military pants and overalls, they look awfully hot and ugly. Then, on one of the bottom racks are boots. Most of them are the same military type, but there is one pair that is pure midnight black and has all the laces already inside. I look down at my torn up sneakers, they won't last long here. I sit on the ground and slip off my shoes, I think I bought them at Walmart. I grab the boots, they're a lot heavier than they look. They go passed my ankles and have a really thick sole. I shove one of them on my foot and start to tie them, but it isn't tight enough. I pull on the laces until the shoe grips onto my foot, then I tie it tightly. I just hope I did it right, and then I do the other foot the same. Well, I'll have to break them in, but that's fine with me.-End Of Flashback-
I used to be so confused and scared, but now, I'm nothing like that. I don't have my cheep shoes from Walmart or my hair tie on my wrist. I have blood on my hands and my combat boots laced up. I'm ready to go looking for Jack with my team and I'm ready to kill the bastard who shot me and my child. Shane had told me that my crossbow wasn't to be kept at my home anymore. Since the dumb non-weapon law, I technically shouldn't have been able to even bring it into the compound. So, I put it the one place no one would be able to find it, especially now. I had given it to Jack, and he kept it safe in the closet in his room, just in case. I open the door in my room and start towards the outside world and Jack's house. I walk through the front doors and make my way down the sidewalk. I pass my old home, and I look in the window that I used to be sitting in. The curtains are slightly open and all the lights are off. Wade and Bob are probably already asleep, since they don't have to keep their eyes on me all night. Only a few more steps and I'll be at Jack's house. I arrive and grab a small potted plant at the top of the small steps. I reach inside and flail my fingers around until I find the small, steel key and pick it out of the pot. I set down the plant and shove the key into the doorknob's keyhole, unlocking the front door. As I push open the door, I can't help but have a feeling that what I'm doing is wrong. The house is slightly messy with silverware and coffee cups strewn about the house. I dare not touch anything, Jack should be the first to move everything in his home. I take slow, gentle steps through the home until I get to the back where Jack's room is. I lightly push the cracked open door and let myself inside. His bed is unmade, leaving all the blankets tangled with each other and few pillows messily laid on the bed. I see the closet, it's sliding door is closed and a military bag sits on the floor next to it. I'm not sure where Jack put my arrows, but it wouldn't hurt to check the bag. I lean down and pick up the bag, placing it on the bed for better reach. I unzip the bag and inside are multitudes of knives and pistols. All of the weapons we would carry when on the road, Jack had them all. I grab two knives and shove one in my combat book and the other has a sheeth and I shove it in my breastplate. Then I zip up the bag and put it back where I had found it. I then put my fingertips on the sliding door of the closet and push it to the side to open it. Inside I see clothes on hangers and a few boxes on the floor. There is a shelf above where only one, small black bag lies. I grab ahold of it and open it, a smile spreads across my face.
"Well, hello again gorgeous." I mumble as I take out my crossbow and sling it over my shoulder. I also see all my arrows safely alined inside the bag, all of them in the sheeth I had put them in. I grab the sheeth and sling it on my other shoulder. I put the bag back in the closet and shut it carefully. I walk out of the house with a grin on my face, now I'm ready to go.
