My Memories

I have a few soldiers from District 6 escort both me and this man, Mark, back to the Main District. Allan has them to spare after all, and I doubt he will mind once I get back. During our journey, Mark continues to talk to me about things that he believes we did. None of them I remember, of course since none of them happened, but he looks so upset every time I tell him that. I suppose he must really look up to Shane and had high expectations for me. I hate to disappoint, but I'm not going to lie to the poor man. He must be feeling so confused.
"What happened to you?" Mark asks me while we walk.
"Well... It is a very long story. A man kidnapped me, believing that he was meant for me or something dumb like that. He then put hallucinogens in me for multiple days, after hard core knocking me out with chloroform. The doctor there told me that if I had been on the chloroform for much longer that it might have killed me. The man was vet upset with me, he though that because I didn't love him that he had to erase me and make me forget everything so that I would learn to love him. Luckily, I escaped before any of it could really badly affect me, but I had to cut my hands with my fingernails to escape. I'll probably need to visit the doctor when I get back home." I tell Mark lazily as I look over my damaged hands.
"They tried to make you forget... Everything..." Mark mumbles. I nod slowly and shake my head.
"There are so many sick people in this world, I cant believe he did it either." I admit while crossing my arms and burying my hands in between my arms.
"But you didn't forget everything, you just forgot me." Mark says. I look at him confused while I keep walking.
"I'm telling you, I've never met you before, Mark." I tell him. "I'm sorry, but that is just how it is. I am thankful that you saved me, but that's all." I add. Mark looks ad though he is holding back tears as he slowly nods and takes in a deep breath.
"You remember Jack, right?" He asks me. My eyes widen just as the mentioning of his name.
"How do you know about him?" I ask, shocked that this man would know my secret lover.
"He was a friend of mine, and lived with Bob, Wade and I." Mark tells me while he sighs heavily again. I change my expression to be even more confused.
"Bob and Wade? Who are they?" I ask curiously. I thought Jack lived alone, maybe he met some guys at the pub while I was with Shane.
"Just some friends... Never mind." Mark mumbles as he slowly wanders to the back of our crowd.

The soldiers lead me to the wall of the Main District where I look up to notice that there's no guard there. How strange, I'd assume Shane would put some there since we just had our compound taken. Well, we don't have many people left after what happened, so I suppose that's his reason. I walk past the soldiers and bang my wrist on the door.
"Shane!" I shout as loud as possible. I turn back towards the soldiers.
"Do you have a com?" I ask, but just as I do I hear the door behind me get opened. I turn back and see my husband standing there with shock on his face.
"Hi." I say, smiling at him. It's good to finally see someone that I know, and trust.
"Hi." He responds, slightly smiling at his feet. I pull him into an embrace, which only stings the cuts on my hands slightly, but I can handle it. Shane hugs me tightly, burying his face into my shoulder. I feel his lightly sniffle and I think he almost sobs.
"What happened?" I ask him in a whisper.
"Being back here... Its intense honestly. And being in our home alone is almost unbearable. Being in the offices is even worse." Shane admits into my neck. I nod slowly and hug him just a little tighter.
"I know... We might have to remodel everything so that it has the right sense about it." I tell him. Shane nods to that and gently let's go of me.
"Yes, we may have to since there is spray pain on the floors and walls, and some of it won't come off." Shane informs me solemnly. He glances behind me and smiles with a wave.
"I am glad you returned, Mark. We were worried that you were going to stay gone, but I had hoped you'd find Violet. Thank you for that." Shane tells him happily.
"She doesn't remember me, Shane. She doesn't seem to know Bob or Wade either." Mark calls to him. Shane gives me a puzzled look and then glances back at Mark.
"What do you mean?" He asks in return, staring at Mark in confusion.
"He thinks I know him and am close to him, I didn't realize that you had such big fans, Shane. Or that they'd be interested in me." I chuckle, and am surprised when Shane's eyes only widen at me and his jaw slowly drops.
"Are you making a joke?" Shane asks me in complete shock. I tilt my head lightly at him.
"No... Why would you think that?" I ask him, getting even more confused.
"Violet... What did Joshua do to you when he took you?" Shane asks me. I try to think back, even though the recent memories harm me.
"He gave me hallucinogens for almost 2 days strait, but it only messed with my vision for a while... He thought that it would erase my memories so that he could create all new ones with me. But it didn't do anything to me, other than making me dizzy for a while and putting spots in my vision." I explain lightly placing my arms on Shane's shoulders.
"I don't understand why he would ever believe that is a good plan... Mark, for the time being I wish for you to watch over her. I do not know what other side effects this may have caused. Violet, please stay in the house with Mark. Joshua seems to have ruined your memories with Mark, which is very sad for both of you. Please let him watch over you, since you were very close friends, and I hope you can regain that." Shane admits with a heavy sigh.
"Right now, I have an ex business partner to take revenge on... For multiple lovely women." Shane adds as he walks past me.
