~*One Week Later*~

I bundle up my hair in my fist and roll it into a neat ponytail. Shane said it would look good for today's meeting after all. I fix the bottom part of my dress that was caught on part of the sink. While pulling up my stockings, I button up my healed boots that Shane gifted me when we arrived here at District 16. I glance at myself in the mirror, seeing if I forgot anything. I examine my outfit, good, my hair, good, my earrings... I can't believe I forgot to put on my brand new, diamond encrusted earrings. I search my room for them, moving one of Shane's ties that he had thrown across the room last night. He can be quite a messy man when he doesn't care to be clean. I grab my earrings and carefully put them in both ears with ease. I then grab my midnight black purse off the bed and rush towards the front door to make sure we aren't late. This meeting is important after all, and we were representing the entirety of the Main District.
"I was just about to go get you..." Shane mumbles, giving me a soft smile.
"Sorry, I couldn't leave the earrings you got me last night." I chuckle back to him softly. "Where's Mark?" I ask, glancing around the front room, realizing he's not there.
"I suppose he's taking longer than you... Which isn't much of a surprise." Shane chuckles back softly.
"And you thought I was going to make us late..." I chuckle back, lightly shaking my head.
"Excuse me? I'm never late." Mark laughs as he walks in, fixing his tie. He still isn't used to dressing fancy every morning I guess. I chuckle softly, Shane and I had got into this habit of whispering to one another, even when people can hear us.
"Sorry..." I chuckle, trying to stop myself and just smiling instead.
"Its fine... Is Rebecca coming or are we going?" Mark asks, standing next to us while we wait.
"She is supposed to send her limo by here, but they seem to be late as well..." Shane explains, softly twiddling with his fingers.
"We can't be late to the district meeting, she knows that." I mumble, glancing up at Shane.
"I'm sure she does... Since her father used to bring her to them when she was a child..." Shane chuckles softly while shaking his head. Before I can answer, the front door is bursted open and the stylish clothed blonde walks in. Her hair is tightly put up in a curled ponytail, she wears a white,  dress with black, sparkling heals and a mini jacket that only goes down to the top of her waist. The lighter blonde highlights in her hair stick out as well as the hairspray that she obviously used.
"Hey, sorry I'm late." She smiles, making the dark red lipstick on her lips stick out. Her eyeliner is thick, and her mascara makes her eyes just look all the bigger.
"Its alright, Rebecca, just make sure we aren't late..." Shane replies while softly shaking his head again. She nods and smiles again, the dimples on the sides of her cheeks showing.
"Yeah, yeah. I will Uncle Shane." She chuckles as he walks back out towards the black limousine that waits for us outside. I follow Shane out the front door, Mark following me and closing the door behind us.
"So, what is your excuse this time?" Shane laughs as he gets in the back of the limo.
"This dress, that I ordered last week didn't fit my hips right. The excuse was that they could find one in my size at the store. Unfortunately, when I told the sewing place my size, they ended up doing it one too small. So, I had to basically pull out part of the seems for it to fit. But, it did, and I still look okay." She smiled and flipped her ponytail to the other side of her head. Mark gets inside after me and closes the car door gently.
"You look stunning, Rebecca, you'll be the prettiest woman in the room." I comment while smiling.
"Well, you won't be in the room the whole time, so that might be true then, Violet." She smiles back and flips her ponytail again.

We arrive in District 10 where the owner, Timothy, called all the owners to have a discussion. Last week Josh decided to make himself more known to the districts, and with the help of Allan, that wasn't hard. There was a panic, and Shane hates when he can't control people. So, we're going to sort everything out there. Shane and I exit the limo with Rebecca and Mark. We brought Mark as a witness to Shane running things, since Shane thinks Josh may try to take control. And, Mark was eager to help us. Of course, Shane and I held hands for our little public image. Mark, on the other hand, smiled at Rebecca as she grabbed his hand to walk with him.
"Follow my lead, I know what I'm doing. Timothy will help us, all we have to do is be careful and be friendly. He'll be in his meeting room, that big building with the gold roof." Shane tells me, gesturing to a large building in front of us.
"So I just have to put on a smile and follow you around?" I question with a smile.
"Exactly. You know well, Mrs. Lancaster." Shane chuckles softly, giving my hand a gentle, yet playful squeeze.

We get into the meeting building that Shane pointed to and instantly, we are all led to a large, clean, black carpeted room.
"Welcome, Shane. You're later than usual." One man with bright blonde hair and dark brown eyes chuckles as he extends his hand and Shane's takes into a handshake.
"Well, I got a ride from Rebecca, if that explains it." Shane laughs softly while releasing the man's hand.
"That certainly is Liam's daughter... Fashionably late. But, this beautiful young lady isn't Rebecca, is she?" He asks while smiling at me.
"No, she's back there somewhere. This is Violet, my wife. Violet, this is Timothy Duncan, the owner of District 10." Shane explains while giving me a nod.
"Oh, please, call me Tim." He replies while softly laughing. Shane chuckles with him and softly gives my hand a squeeze.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Tim." I say, extending my other hand for him to shake. Before we came, Shane told me that I should try to introduce myself to as many people as possible. That way they will have a higher chance of agreeing with us today, and will let Shane keep the Main District.
"Oh, the pleasure is all mine, Violet, er, Mrs. Lancaster." He smiles and shakes my hand politely.
"Is everyone here?" Shane questions Tim, changing the topic back to business as he normally does.
"Only waiting for Kevin and Charles. But, Kevin is always late so we can start without him most likely." Tim explains with a slight nod.
"Yes, so when Charles arrives we can start. Violet, would you like to go introduce yourself to a few people here? I'm sure Rebecca will need to as well, since she is a new compound owner." Shane explains, softly releasing my hand from his gentle grip.
"Oh, okay." I respond while taking my hands at my sides and looking around the room for wherever Rebecca ran off to. But, on the other side is the room, glancing at me from the corners of his eyes, stands Josh.
