My eyes widen at Ian's request and I jump up in my cell. I dash towards the door and I grab onto the bars and press my face against them.
"Kyle, please don't. Shane is all I have, don't do this." I beg him with tears brimming my eyes. Kyle looks at me with full blown fear in his eyes. I shake my head, denying that what Ian said could ever happen.
"Ian... Why do we have to do this? We can just leave, we can let all these people live their lives in peace without us. Please, Ian, don't be this way." Kyle stares into his brother's eyes with fear and sadness.
"How am I being?" Ian questions, ridding with something in his pocket.
"You're not being like my brother... And I want my brother, that's why I got you... But... You aren't my brother when you're like this." Kyle states, his voice cracking and tears starting to come from his eyes onto his cheeks.
"Well... If I'm not your brother... Then who am I?" Ian questions, his head tilting to the side.
"I don't know..." Kyle admits, gulping back all the spit in his mouth. Ian shakes his head and puts his hand up angrily.
"Kyle. You're playing aren't you? You're funnier than I thought you were. Let's head back then, I'm done here." Ian says with a small chuckle as he turns and begins walking towards the exit. Kyle locks eyes with me and he nods, as if to tell me that he would help.
"No." Kyle says, turning his head so it faces Ian once more.
"What do you mean 'no'?" Ian chuckles, turning around to face his brother.
"I... I'm not g-going with y-you unless you l-let all of these people go and... And... Either leave or go b-back to prison..." Kyle demands while he stutters nervously.
"Brother... I can't go back to prison... I won't go back, and live my life, rotting away in a cell." Ian states, a few tears sliding down his cheeks and shaking his head.
"Th... Then leave..." Kyle suggests as a tear slides down his cheek as well.
"Kyle... Won't you come with me then?" Ian questions, tilting his head and sounding like he's about to begin sobbing.
"I... I won't Ian. I h-have to fix my mistakes. I have t-to... I have to pay for what I did... And I have to fix what... What I did." Kyle states, more tears going down his flushed face.
"B-but... Kyle... If you do that... They'll probably kill you, or at least lock you up like they did to me. You don't want to do that..." Ian says, slowly pacing towards Kyle. Kyle sighs heavily and looks at his brother with teary eyes, and simply nods.
"I'm... I'm sorry, Ian. Either leave or face your crimes, because I'm letting Shane go." Kyle states as one if the tears in his eyes drips down to his chin.
"Fine. Fine." Ian says his sorrow soon being replaced by fury. "I'm leaving, you can ruin your life if you want." Ian adds as he begins walking out of the room once more. With his hand he grabs Maddie by the hair and lifts her back to her feet. He then, with her, exits the room and slams the door behind him. Kyle nods and takes in a shaky breath. He reaches in his coat pocket and pulls out a ring of rusty keys. He looks to me and puts the key in my cell first and unlocks me from my prison. I stare at him in shock while he pulls open the door for me. He nods once more before he goes to Shane's cell and repeats his actions swiftly and with shaky hands. I'm about to take a step outside, then I change my mind and go back for Jack. I pick up his corpse and kiss his cheek before walking out of my cell with him. Shane dashes towards me and releases a sigh of relief. He grabs me and kisses me right there. My eyes widen at his actions and I just stand shocked while he does this. He let's go and kisses my forehead before he takes a step back.
"I have business, I'll be back." He says as he walks out of the prison and rushes around the corner. Kyle begins following my husband out, but I catch him before he can.
"Kyle. Why did you do that?" I call to him and he stops with his hand on the door handle.
"What do you mean? It was the right thing to do." Kyle explains nervously, turning to face me. I glance down at Jack and shake my head.
"That's not why you did it. If that was why, you wouldn't have let him out, or let him kill Jack. You did it for a different reason. If you're going to lie again, just don't respond. I can see through lies pretty well, kid." I say, my eyes watching him carefully. Kyle shakes his head and another tear escapes his eye.
"You're right. I did it for a really selfish reason actually... I did it, because I thought it would bring my brother back. The brother that I know, the brother that wouldn't just kill people because they're mad... I wanted my brother back... But... I should've listened to you, and I'm so sorry I didn't." Kyle apologizes with sincerity in his voice.
"Good. Because next time you think about doing something, and someone tells you not to... You remember what this did, and you remember the look in my eyes when I saw my love die. And you remember the look that your brother had when he pulled the trigger. That will help you make decisions I hope." I state with my eternal flame burning me inside. Kyle nods as he turns away and exits the room. I shake my head and get outside, I'm going home. I need to see Wade, or Bob, or someone else.
