Allan nods slowly and rubs his hands together nervously.
"You're right. You have my apologies, Shane." Allan announces while glancing at Mark who nods in return.
"Sorry for interrupting, I just thought that was important to mention." Mark explains as he bows his head slightly to Allan and returns across the room back towards me.
"You're right, Mark, was it?" Tim asks, slightly tilting his head.
"Yeah, and thanks." Mark nods and leans against the coffee supply table next to me.
"Thanks for doing that, Jack would be happy to be mentioned." I chuckle softly, trying to hold back my tears that I feel coming from his memory.
"I thought so too, especially since it might help Shane." Mark whispers with a nod.
"I think it will, since you just proved Allan wrong. People may not trust him as much anymore." I mutter quietly, moving my eyes to the front of the room.
"True." Mark mumbles back, still nodding slowly.
"Anyways, as I was saying, Shane has not only been selfish, but he has been lying to you all." Allan states, his glare meeting Shane's once more.
"You see, his compound was taken from him by a prisoner. He asked me to keep it from you all, but since we telling the absolute truth, it should come out now." Allan declares. I watch Shane's fist clench hearing this, but his face stays emotionless. He really is good at dealing with these guys insulting him.
"Is this true, Shane?" Tim asks, sighing heavily as he turns to face my husband.
"Yes. I only did it because I had the situation under control." Shane explains while nodding slowly.
"Under control? Is that why Mark's friend Jack was killed in the attack?" Josh questions.
"Don't you dare say his name." I spit at him, clenching my fists at my sides, ready to punch that grin off his smug little face.
"Violet, calm down, dear." Shane orders sternly. I nod and take a deep breath, releasing my hands from being held.
"Okay... Sorry." I mumble under my breath.
"We need order in here ladies and gentlemen. Please only speak if you have something important to tell the businessmen." Tim demands while rubbing his hands together.
"Well the fact that there were casualties during this take over is important I would think. The very reason Mark's friend could speak for himself here today is because he was killed that day. Violet herself told me that." Josh tells everybody while staring at me with a smug look on his face, as if he'd already won.
"Please address my wife respectfully as Mrs. Lancaster." Shane orders while crossing his arms.
"You may not know, Mr. Lancaster, but I've known Violet for years and we are close friends." Josh replies, turning to stare at Shane.
"We are far from friends. Someone who tortures me and makes me forget parts of my life isn't a good friend. You are a terrorist to me, Josh. You made me forget about a lot of my friends, and I will never forgive you for that, or for kidnapping me, or for all of the shit you're trying to pull right now. Shane is a better businessman than you'll ever be. He has cared for, loved, and provided for me and all my friends since day one. And everyone here already knows that. It would be the worst decision of your life to make you the leader of anything." I spit out each word at Josh as if it was a bad taste in my mouth.
"Dear, please. You're too kind as always, but we are still having this discussion." Shane comments while giving me a soft smile.
"Well this discussion is still crap. We already know what the outcome is going to be. These guys are smart, they know you aren't a phycopath like Josh. This is a waste of time." I reply while shaking my head.
"Mrs. Lancaster, the time will come for your opinion on the matter, please save it until then." Tim asks me politely.
"Fine. Can I wait outside until then?" I ask, crossing my arms and letting out an annoyed sigh.
"Violet, not now." Shane demands in a threatening tone.
"I wasn't asking you, Shane." I reply, turning my head to face Tim, seeing what his answer for me will be.
"You may, if you wish, Mrs. Lancaster." Tim tells me with a heavy sigh. I nod and cross my arms as I turn on my heal and head for the exit.
"I'll go with her, I've already interrupted and I wouldn't want to do it again." Mark comments as he follows me towards the door.
"You don't have to baby me, Mark. I'm just gonna get more pissed the long I'm here." I mutter back to him sharply.
"I know. That's why I'm coming with you." He replies with a soft sigh. I shrug and continue for the door. The man known as Kevin opens it for me.
"You're right..." He mumbles, only making a small amount of eye contact with me as I walk out.
"I know." I reply as I walk out of the room and Mark follows behind me. They close the door on me and I can hear the small turn of the lock. I scoff and chuckle to myself hearing it.
"I guess they really didn't like how right I was." I laugh to myself as I lean against the wall, Mark following my lead and standing next to me.
"I guess not." He replies while giving me a shrug.
"If I had to sit through Allan's whole dribble about how terrible my husband is for one more minute I might have said something worse. I might start talking about how he beat his daughter." I chuckle while shaking my head. "He's such a dick." I add, glancing up at Mark.
"He really is. First to betray Shane like that, then to be so harsh about nothing." Mark chuckles softly.
"Yeah, and if I had to go through Josh's dribble too... It would have been awful." I comment with a laugh of my own. "Maybe I should go back in and apologize for my outburst." I joke while laughing harder about the whole situation.
"That would be good, then maybe Allan would apologize for lying." Mark chuckles again while shaking his head.
"These businessmen... They're brutal."
