~*Violets POV*~
Still lost in a haze, I sit up and try to wipe my eyes, but notice my arms latched down my strong, leather straps. I try to shake them loose, but they're tied tightly to the table I sit atop of.
"Don't try to fight me, Violet, or else you'll end up getting hurt more." Josh tells me, his shadowy figure approaching me.
"Please just... Stop this, Josh... I... I can't even see strait..." I tell him, stumbling on my words and stuttering slightly from the drugs.
"Then you shouldn't be able to leave me anytime soon, right?" Josh asks me kindly with a small laugh.
"I... Josh, don't... Please... Shane will hurt you, if you... Hurt me..." I shake with every word I say with my hands twitching at my sides. I feel a needle in my arm pump fluids into me, and it only makes flashes, spots and blurry areas appear in my vision. The needle seems to go deeper into my skin every second, giving me even more discomfort.
"Josh... The needle... It hurts." I tell him as a tear rolls down my cheek. Josh raises his hand gently to my face, I still flinch, and he wipes the tears away.
"I know, it will hurt at first. But it will make you forget all the bad, like Shane. He can't hurt me, or you, not anymore." Josh announces with his bright smile.
"I will forget... The good too... Not just... The bad..." I tell him through many twitches and the pain in my arm getting worse.
"Oh, I'll create even better memories with you, my love. Once you forget everyone you were with before, I will help you to be happy, with me." Josh tells me, his hand cupping my face. I shale my head to get him off me and begin crying heavily.
"Please get... This needle out..." I beg him as the pain pounds into me like a hammer. Josh glances at it and sighs as he waves his hand towards someone in the shadows. The woman who comes over wears her long, brown hair in a ponytail and has a lab coat that goes down to her thighs.
"Check her." Josh demands, gently taking his hand off me and backing away a bit. The woman looks at me and then down at the needle.
"Does it hurt?" She asks me kindly.
"Really... Really bad." I tell her, continuing to cry.
"What type of pain is it? Stinging, throbbing, stabbing?" She asks me, more concerned this time.
"Like a... Hammer... Pounding it deeper... It stings..." I tell her through my sobs and shaking. I honestly feel like a mess, but there's nothing I can do about it.
"Mr. McNeil, I have to take it out. She has had it going steadily for almost 48 hours strait, and needs a break. If she doesn't, it may damage not only her mental health, but her physical as well. It could start pealing skin, getting infected and may actually end up killing her." The woman tells him as she grabs a small swab from her lab coat pocket and places it over the place where the needle meets my arm.
"Fine. Take it out." Josh tells her. The woman nods and slowly pulls the needle out of my arm and places it on a small table by the table.
"Is there anything else bothering you, dear?" The woman asks me, turning to face me again.
"My vision is... Blurry and spotty." I tell her, blinking a few times to try to get rid of it.
"That is a side effect of the medication that Mr. McNeil has been giving you. It may also cause fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, weak or numb fingers and toes, but if it goes past your fingers or toes, you tell me immediately. That could mean that you may go unconscious, or even go into a coma." The woman informs me, glancing at Josh in an intimidating manner.
"Alright. We know, thank you Dr. Martin." Josh says, slightly pushing her back away from me.
"Yeah... Just, keep an eye on her. Giving her that stuff in high doses like that could really damage her psychologically." She replies as she slowly backs away from me.
"What... Did you do... Josh?" I ask him with the same shaky voice that I can't seem to get rid of.
"Helping you to forget all of the people you don't need." Josh mumbles as he too goes back into the shadows.
"Josh... Please... Let me go... At least... Untie me from... The table..." I beg him loudly. Josh doesn't respond to me and only walks away with his hands in his pockets.
"Josh!" I shout at him all the while more tears pour down my cheeks. I can no longer see him and I heard loud, metallic, clunking sounds a few get away. I would guess that would be the sound of a door opening, and being either locked or unlocked.
"Josh... Don't do this..." I call to him again, but by that time all the noise had stopped. My only guess would be that Josh isn't in here anymore, probably doesn't want me to guilt trip him. But I will eventually. What he's doing is not right, to anyone, and I'm going to make him see that. I'll make him see how much this hurts me, and even exaggerate it a bit to make him feel my suffering, and I'm good at that. I lay myself back down on the table and pull my legs up ad close as they will get to my chin. I clench my fists and attempt to dig my fingernails into my palms. I feel more tears form in my eyes as they break through my skin. I push harder on my skin until I finally feel blood drip down my fingertips. I hear a steady drip of my blood begin to fall onto the floor, I only hope it is enough for him to untie me. Because once I'm untied, he can't hold me anymore and I'll be able to fight my way out of this place.
