I stepped outside and immediately felt my insides freeze. It was so cold. I began to walk home because my mom's car didn't start this morning. My teeth chattered as the snow fell and hit my face.

After walking a few minutes, everything was numb. I breathed on my fingers to try to warm them. I didn't have a coat, so I was literally getting frostbite.

I closed my eyes and kept walking, trying not to cry out of frustration, or else my tears would freeze in my eyes.

Suddenly, my worn out boots lost traction in the stupid snow and I felt the falling sensation. Then, warm hands were on my arms, pulling me back up.

I turned to see who it was.

Niall.

"Oh. Thanks," I said roughly. My voice was going. I hoped my house was close.

He smiled and I looked at all the snowflakes beautifully adorning his hair…

I snapped out of it and kept walking.

"You live up Main Street?" He asked. I nodded, afraid my voice might crack.

"Me too." If he lived next door to me, I was going to have a heart attack.

We kept walking and my teeth wouldn't stop chattering, even when I snapped them together.

He looked over at me as we walked side by side and slipped off his coat. The blush that came to my cheeks felt nice in the cold, and was certainly visible. He draped it over me. I smelt him on it and smiled to myself.

"Thank you. Again," I said. He nodded. As we approached my house, he stopped a house away. I looked at him.

"You live here?"

He chuckled. "Yeah…" I blinked.

I pointed to my house. He smiled.

"Cool," he half-whispered. I nodded and handed him back his coat.

"Thanks again," I smiled. He nodded and walked inside as I walked into my house.

I ran up the stairs to gain some heat, and put my socks and slippers on. Then I put sweats and a sweater on, with my favorite green scarf. I ran downstairs and started warming up some milk for hot chocolate.

As I stirred it in, I heard a knock at the door. I ran to get it. I looked through the window.

Niall. I opened it and shivered.

"Can I come in?" He asked, smiling. "I don't wanna make you cold." I blushed again. He was wearing a red sweater with green stripes and I remembered it was finally Christmas break.

"Yeah. What's up?" I asked. He looked at me, running his fingers through his hair briefly.

"I thought we could just chill," he explained. "You see what I did there?" I looked at him and laughed, and he laughed along with me.

I hoped my crush on him wasn't showing through because I didn't want him to know.

"Okay. I'm warming up some milk for hot-" He stopped me.

"Yes, please." I smiled and we walked into the kitchen.

I sat down and gave him my hot chocolate. I made some more for myself.

After a few minutes, we went into my room and talked for 2 hours.

We said goodbye at the door, and I said I would love to do it again sometime.

He nodded and bent down and kissed me full on the lips. He backed away with wide eyes.

"I'm so sorry! I have no idea where that came from and I-"

I pulled him back into me because I loved the way his lips felt against mine. I gripped his shirt in my hands and he held my waist.
